What's the safest cheapest way to whiten your teeth at home?
What's the cheapest way to whiten your teeth at home? I've heard of using baking soda but some say it isn't safe is that true and is there something that's not in a form of a paste, strip or a trip to the dentist that will help me whiten my teeth? Thanks for Your Help!

crest whitestrips!!! but sometimes those can even be a bit pricey so either get the store brand of them or... brush your teeth at least 3 times and floss daily and use hydrogen peroxide mixed halfway with water as a oral mouthwash. there is no sugar in it and its safe and effective. just buy a bottle from the dollarstore and its about a dollar. The directions are on the back. hope this helps and good luck! =)) oh, p.s. here is what the back of my bottle of hydrogen peroxide says: oral debriding agent: -mix with an equal amount of water. -swish around in the mouth over the affected area for at least 1 miniute and then spit out. -use up to 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a dentist or doctor. oh...ellie secretly loves…was talking about baking soda.... well shes right too. it really does work.!!

It regards a company called 'white-again' teeth whitening gel?
I bought some of this gel lastt year from a beauty show in manchester, reputable I would have thought, at a cost of £30, not cheap. When I arrived home the gel had spilled all over the bag as the top was not on properly, I took it from the bag and then my fingers went white and were burning for about 5 hours, even after washing. I tried the website white-again.com, does not exist Tried to find a phone number--none! finally I wrote asking for a replacement and their thoughts. The letter was never returned nor did I receive a reply. Today that same show is on in Manchester and hey! the same stand is there. I spoke quietly to a man they directed me to who supposedly is the Manager, I asked what they would do, he offered firstly to replace it to which I said I would prefer a refund due to what happened, I also told him the product must be full of peroxide to burn in that way, I suggested he replace and also give another. He became extremely rude he was in fact obnoxious. I asked if he would rather I tell all his customers to which he walked away. I then went to the organizers to tell them what had happened and they are powerless to do anything. I have returned with the item. Can anyone help and advise me what to do I am a pensioner and can ill afford to lose £30

Yay you! Congrats on quitting smoking, that's a major achievement. I have read that baking soda and hydrogen peroxide work to whiten teeth. You mix it together to make a paste then brush with it. Don't swallow it though because it taste bad. You can also brush with your regular toothpaste after brushing with this. Should help you and it doesn't have vinegar! If you want to go a different route, my sister told me about a site that has good teeth whitener info. It's a good resource because the person that owns the site goes into details about what she did to get her teeth whiter. If you are interested, check out the resource link below. I've been a dental assistant for 3yrs now. We promote the Crest White Strips for people wanting a cheaper way for whitening their teeth. I tried them myself so I could tell our patients about them. I really liked them and could tell after about a week a difference. You may need to do more than one box of the 14 day kit, depending on how stained your teeth are. After you use them, you may have to do a kit every 6mos or so just for a touch up since we are always staining our teeth with food and drinks. The reason the whitening toothpaste and mouth wash doesn't work is bc it doesn't sit on your teeth for a period of time. You need something that will stay on your teeth with bleach for a little while to get the bleach to set in.

What is an easy way to whiten your teeth without going to the dentist?
Or having to blow a lot of money. I use colgate total(which says whitening on the tube) and listerine both AT LEAST twice a day. I have the whitening listerine but I don't like it as much as the regular. I'm just curious as I am starting to see things in the world much differently. When growing up I used to use on my teeth and it would really whiten. It used to advertise teeth whitening on the box. It no longer advertises that its use is for whitening teeth and Im wondering if its because its not good for your teeth.

It is very good for your teeth and gums, but.. to abrasive to use daily, used once or twice a week to help help tremendously to remove stains and plaqe is fine, It does make a great mouthwash that can be used daily(1/2 tsp mixed with 5 oz water. it may not taste minty, but it removes odors!

Overall I would say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses Crest Supreme which are much stronger than what you can buy in a drugstore and don't cost that much more ($60.00 vs $30.00). You can purchase the drugstore version, but do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar or plaque) will impede their ability to work. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). The strips are probably your best low price alternative, much less than in office whitening or custom trays (about $500.00). I am also hearing happy reviews with the Aquafresh whitening trays, unlike the strips they don't have the tendency to slip or move). All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective.
