So I wanna use this whitening paste on my teeth, but it says not to use if you have cavities. I'm pretty sure I have at least one cavity that still needs to be filled, but if I use the paste... what will happen to that tooth? Just wondering if I should go ahead and use the paste now.
--------------------
tooth whitening pastes may contain bleaching agents and if you use them without prescription as in your case you may develop some serious dental problems. it can further deepen the cavity, infect your gums and may even spread to surrounding teeth. so following dental recommendation and product prescriptions is really important, else you can't blame any company or product for the side effects

I have used baking soda on my teeth before but I stopped because I read if you use too much it might decay your teeth. But, there are many types of at-home products available for teeth whitening. When evaluating these products, the following should be considered: effectiveness, comfort, ease of use and the number of shades of lightening they produce. There seems to be thousands of companies advertising about teeth whitening products. But do they actually work? How do you choose the best teeth one? Teeth whitening products such as whitestrips, teeth whitening pens, and other dental products are designed to brighten your teeth without the pain or hassle and cost of going to the dentist. Teeth whitening products come in many different forms, such as trays, pastes, strips, and even a sort of paint that you apply directly to your teeth. The peroxide ingredient in most teeth whitening products is what actually bleaches the enamel and makes your teeth whiter. Most people see results from the best teeth whitening products in less than one week. You can find some cool products available for free trial. I keep coming across this one website below with a free trail. You may want take a look! Can't go wrong with free! I'm even considering trying it out myself as well.

Anybody have some good tooth whitening tips?
I regularly brush my teeth but they're still not that white :( I was wondering if people could give me any tooth whitening tips you might know of?
--------------------
I had the same dilemma. I regularly brushed my teeth and really didn't want to spend money on dentist whitening. So after doing a little research on the topic i discovered that mixing peroxide and baking soda really does work. i was a little dubious to try it but im glad i did. Take a cup and pour in about a teaspoon of baking soda in it. then pour in a little bit of peroxide like you would put on a cut. Mix it up and put it n your tooth brush. I will taste bad. Then brush your teeth with it for a couple of minutes then rinse. Then brush your teeth with regular fluoride toothpaste. don't use the baking soda as a substitute for toothpaste it will whiten your teeth but wont keep it healthy like the fluoride toothpaste or protect from cavity's or plaque build up. you'll see immediate results after about a week your teeth will e several shades lighter.

over the counter teeth whitening?
has anyone ever tried crest white strips or whitening trays? my teeth aren't that bad but i'd like them to be whiter. I was just wondering if any one has had any success with these products.

I use the Equate brand at Walmart..They work just as good as Crest, and all the other brands out there. They work fine, but they make your teeth really sensitive the entire few days/weeks that you're using them, and then a couple more days after you stop using them. But then the sensitive feeling goes right back to normal. Also, a few hours after you use them, your gums might hurt a little. But thats all totally normal. AND, when you take the strips off, your teeth will look splotchy. Like random WHITE spots here and there. Odds are, when you take off the strips and notice the spots, you will FLIP OUT and think that the strips ruined your teeth..But it's totally normal, and everyone that I've talked to that have used teeth whitening strips all flipped out too when they saw their teeth had splotches. BUT, after 30 mins to 2 hours, the spots go away. So don't panic, thinking that your teeth are ruined forever.lol It's just you teeth having a reaction to the whitening chemical. Anyway, they work...Try them.

I have recently tried Aquafresh white trays and they are great... I pretty much saw results in the first day. Since I am a coffee drinker/soda drinker I would like to get a good whitening toothpaste to help maintain the whiteness of my teeth.

Results from tooth paste are totally insignificant the best way to whiten your teeth is by using Carbamide Peroxide, this is what dentists actually use and charge £300 per treatment. We sell this for home use for around £20 and we also sell Laser kits. If you would like to know more please e mail me. or visit www.toothwhitening4all.com Laser kits produce immediate results and they are inexpensive. Even if you have not taken care of your teeth you will get amazing results. Just be carefull when parting money with a dentist, its cheaper to do your own at home we supply dentists with the same gels.

Hello I am a Dental Hygienist from India. As you told you want to get your teeth white. For this you have to visit a Dental clinic and get a treatment called Oral prophylaxis(Scaling). Its a normal teeth cleaning procedure, but done by a Dental Hygienist or Dentist. With this procedure you will get the natural color of your teeth. There are different shades of teeth in every people,so you will get your natural shade back. But if you dont get that white and want more white shiny teeth then you can go for Bleeching treatment but it will be good if you just go for Scaling. Just brushing at home cant remove the stains and calculus (hard plaque and food debris) from the teeth and under free gingivalmargin(Gums). Stains and accumulation of plaque and calculus is normal process in every human. It cause due to improper brushing techniques and not using floss regularly. Using chewing gums is good and healthy habit but clean your teeth after eating chocolates. Scaling should be done in 6 months or atlest in the year.Visiting a Dental clinic in once in year or in six months is best. Hope this answer may help you.

--------------------
Step 1Use regular toothpaste to brush your teeth and rinse. Step 2Fill a cup with clean water. Step 3Get a small, disposable cup, a box of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a plastic spoon. Step 4Spoon out approximately 2 tsp. of baking soda into the disposable cup. Measure out about 1 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide and pour it into the cup. Mix the two ingredients thoroughly. Add more baking soda or hydrogen peroxide until you have a paste with the consistency of regular toothpaste. Step 5Add a drop or two of your favorite toothpaste into the cup for flavor. Mix all three ingredients. Step 6Wet your toothbrush. Step 7Dip the toothbrush into the paste. Get the paste on all sides of the toothbrush. Step 8Brush your teeth with the paste. Step 9Rinse your mouth well with the water from your pre-filled cup. Take small sips at a time and swish the water to remove all traces of the paste from your mouth. Step 10Repeat once a week.

I need to whiten up my teeth a little bit because im going to a party later, what can i do besides brush my teeth to get extra whitening? help me please!

You can brush your teeth with some baking powder. It may not taste very nice, but it works. But don't do it everyday - The baking powder is acidic and it eats away at your teeth over time. But every now and then should be just fine :)

Hi, I'm a dentist so trust me when I tell you not to use over the counter strips. They contain Phosphoric acid and you do not want an acid attack on your teeth enamel. Only two products are safe: carbamide peroxide -for home use- and Hydrogen peroxide for dental chair use. As a dentist I like the second one because patients can't control the amount of product they use. Ask your dentist about Hydrogen peroxide products. I got my teeth bleached and I can assure you it's a safe procedure if the professional knows what he/she's doing. Good luck!

Teeth whitening question?
I am getting married soon and I realized that with my very white dress, my teeth are going to stand out as they are not that white. I was curious what are some good ways to whiten them? Any one have any experience with those strips? Any ideas would help, thanks!

The strips are good, in office custom trays are better, for the quick fix... in office treatment is the way to go (approx. same results as trays, just done for you and accelerated... more$).

i suggest that the best way to naturally whiten teeth is to e sure to maintain proper brushing and careful flossing to be able to remove stain on teeth as well as plaque. at the same time, you can also try using an at-home teeth whitening that can help restore white like what you have ages ago. make sure that you choose the right product that contains quality ingredients that is safe and effective. well, there is a need to quit bad habits of smoking and tobacco use. you can also avoid teeth staining culprits like foods and drinks such as coffee, colas, tea, plum, red wine, sauces, chocolates and many more. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to safely and effectively keep teeth whiter.

Which makes teeth whiter/better results? Laser Whitening or Bleaching?
Hi there, I'm thinking of getting my teeth whitened but want to know which way gets teeth whiter? Laser or Bleaching? I know Laser is more expensive but I've heard the results are better. Can anyone help me, has anyone had it done? Thanks
--------------------
Laser whitening and bleaching are really the same process. Both require the teeth to be covered with a peroxide solution; in "one hour" or laser whitening the peroxide is much more concentrated. The laser is supposed to cause the peroxide to be more active but several studies suggest that it does nothing more than placebo. After one hour there is whitening but likely not to the degree that you want; so you are then given an at-home whitening kit to complete the process over the following couple of weeks. I assume the bleaching you refer to is the at-home kit that is used for 30 minutes twice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks. This method is often more comfortable (less sensitivity) and less costly. Both methods will usually result in white teeth.

Teeth whitening toothpaste suggestions????????
I want to get my teeth professionally whitened but in the mean time i'm keen to try out teeth whitening gels/paste. Any successful brands anyone can suggest...?

I would try Arm and Hammer toothpaste with peroxide. It helped some. These whitening toothpaste are only used to "maintain" the color of your teeth. If you are looking for results, you will only find high quality results w/ your professional dentist whitened teeth.

Teeth whitening/enamel.?
I have used whitening strips and gels in the past, but I didn't really see any improvements in my teeth. Although my teeth are already white and I get plenty of compliments, I don't feel they're as white as they can be. And also, my enamel is decreasing. The bottom of my teeth are literally clear looking. Are there any natural ways that I can improve both these problems? Please and thank you!
--------------------
There is a new tootpaste called Proenamel that works great for restoring enamel and lustor back to the tooth. It won't work overnight it will take a while but it's worth it if you use it for a period of time.

Whitening teeth with common household items?
Are there any common household items that can whiten your teeth? I've heard about baking soda, but are there others? Thanks!
--------------------
Hello! There are numerous things to "whiten" your teeth around the house! Sodium Bicarbonate and Hydrogen Peroxide are going to be the two most useful household items to whiten your teeth! I really would not advise using Hydrogen Peroxide so we'll skip that (you can use it if you want, but it's up to you to figure out how to use it) I'll explain how to use baking soda to whiten your teeth. Everytime you brush your teeth add 1 tsp. of baking soda ontop of your toothpaste and brush as normal then make sure you rinse your mouth out with water. Repeat twice a day until your teeth appear whiter. For a mere $4.00 you can purchase "Arm and Hammer teeth whitening paste" that adds ontop of your toothpaste from your local store which I also suggest as an alternative to the expensive whitening that your dentist can do or the $60.00 whitening strips (crest are the better). Please be careful as many products can make your teeth sensitive (hydrogen peroxide being the main one) The arm and hammer paste has a very low chance of creating sensitivity in your teeth with use so I would suggest purchasing it. I know it to be fairly effective in whitening too.

Are cosmetic dental services such as teeth whitening covered by most dental insurance plans?
Other examples might be porcelain veneers, dental implants and bonding. Are these normally covered by regular medical/dental insurance plans provided by employers?

Weather I would encourage you to visit this website. www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up with them online over 3 years ago. Which teeth whitening strips really work?
I've always wanted to try them but I don't know if they really work or even if they are worth buying
--------------------
I recommend that you do not use strips because it weakens the enamel and gives you a higher chance of getting cavities. household baking soda works almost right on the spot but don't use it often that can take off enamal too.

I recommend that you do not use strips because it weakens the enamel and gives you a higher chance of getting cavities. household baking soda works almost right on the spot but don't use it often that can take off enamal too.
