i saw this ad thing that said you could whiten teeth at home. What is the method exactly?

Help!! Teeth whitening?

So i was told to brush with baking soda and peroxide to get whiter teeth fast&then to swoosh around a little peroxide in your mouth but not to swallow. I did that and my gums hurt and are all white! will it go away eventually and should i keep using this method??

Safely whitening Teeth? :S?

I am a Teenager and I recently stopped brushing my teeth for days at a time. Now I think of it I regret it a lot :S But now I Have started to Brush my teeth 2 times a day. The problem is that they are slightly yellow.... Is there any brand or product I can use which will whiten my teeth without any abrasives or ingredients which can damage my teeth or gums? and also if so, how long roughly would it take? And one last thing, I read About Orbit White Chewing Gum. Apparently it whitens teeth? could i have some information please :P help with any of this would be appreciated. Thank you! :D

A lot of products will make your teeth sensitive but I use plus white speed whitening gel. I have really sensitive teeth and that hasn't been bad on them at all, it's cheap, and it seems to be working! You're not supposed to get it on your gums but then again you aren't supposed to get any whitening stuff on your gums really. Also, Orbit white may help but it won't give you dramatically whiter teeth. :)

Whitening in surgery is the most effective, but unfortunately also the most expensive. The price varies. You could phone around to get some quotes. Also remember that tea, coffee, red wine and heavily spiced foods (such as curry) can add to tooth discolouration.

I believe Scope sells a whitening mouthwash now. I just saw a commercial for it the other day. Have you tried brushing with just baking soda and peroxide? My hygienist told me to do this for whiter teeth. It tastes like crap, but in a few days you'll tell a difference.

They all say they're scientifically proven to, but where is the evidence, Where is the PDF on this experiment to be found? Okay so I hate how NOT WHITE my teeth are. I know they could be much much worse, but I really don't like it. I'm 16 and I have braces, should I wait until I've had my braces off to try and sort them? i use Crest Whitening strips and they work great. my teeth are not sensitive or anything. i get a lot of compliments on how white they are. my dentist told me using them is fine. However, i do not use them everyday or twice a day. i use them once a week and i also use mouth wash. Good luck

cinnamon not a good flavor, some people have bad reactions as it is a strong flavor and hard on the gum tissue. Ultradent makes a melon flavored product, you can google it.

When should I notice my teeth are whitening when using a home kit made by dentist used overnight for 2 weeks?

I've been using it religiously for 4 nights now and I don't see any difference in my teeth. The only difference I notice is occasional minor sensitivity on my front bottom teeth. I didn't have stained teeth anyway so I would understand there would be no difference there (I never drink tea, coffee or smoke etc). However, I did hope that my teeth would be whiter and now I'm worried this isn't going to happen. Perhaps these kits are only for removing stains (which I don't have) and not for whitening pearly yellow teeth (which I do have).

Did the whitening kit come with a shade guide? If it did, hold it up to your teeth and record the colour. You may not be noticing the change because it is happening a little each time. But if you know where you are before you start whitening, it will be easier to see the results compared to what you were. If you don't have a shade guide, maybe the dentist will let you know and then go back when you're finished the treatments and check again. Whitening kits don't work on everyone, but there is usually some underlying condition that would explain it. By the sounds of things, you have pretty good teeth but just want them whiter. Keep at it and give it some more time. The overnight kits generally have a lower concentration of bleaching agent in them to be more gentle, especially if you're doing it over two weeks. Just record somehow where you are now in your progress and check again when you're done. If you're not satisfied with the change, talk to your dentist.

I've known him since we were little and even then his teeth were yellow, Its like they're permanently stained.He has brushed and brushes everyday ,its not like he has bad breath or his teeth are crooked its just they're stained! yellow teeth usually whiten reasonable well, however if he has had them all his life then it is more likely that the stains are inside the tooth. He should visit his dentist and get evaluated. There are a few options: 1. bleaching - the dentist will make custom trays and prescribe you a bleaching kit, usually 10% carbamide peroxide - this usually will work, however the length of time varies with different people. It could work in a month or take up to a year. 2. veneers - your dentist will be able to place a white porcelain over his existing teeth to make them whiter. - this will work on most all patient. however your teeth are transparent, meaning you see through them, so it would still be advisable to bleach his teeth prior to having the veneers placed. If his teeth are severely stained then in order to whiten his teeth with veneers, the veneers may need to be more opaque, meaning light can't pass through them. This will make his teeth more like a toilet bowl, but will be able to whiten them none the less. the success of bleaching depends greatly on why his teeth are stained. If he truly has had stained teeth since birth, then there could be a few causes: dental fluorosis and tetracycline staining to name a few.(however these usually don't cause yellow teeth but more brownish color.)

it should go away. some people are more senstive to whitening gels than others. not sure what zoom is though, but that usually happens when you get the peroxide gel on your gums. try using a whitening pen

Don't eat anything that would stain a white t-shirt a color. Eat like vanilla yoga rt, mashed potatoes, chicken sandwich with no tomatoes/lettuce, fettuccine alfredo....white food for 24-48 hrs. Don't drink anything with color either. This is so important, I am so surprised they didn't give you this information.
