Dentist Edina MN? I need a Dentist Edina for teeth whitening?

Dentist Edina, do you know of a good one? I live in Edina Minnesota, and I need to have some dental work done. The first procedure I want to have done by an Edina dentist is teeth whitening. However, I also need a root canal. Let me know your experiences with some local Edina Dentists.
--------------------
Dentist Edina MN - I have a great recommendation for you. I just moved to Golden Valley, but I used to live in Edina. I recently needed a cavity filled, and my friend Tom recommended The Bassett Creek Dental group. They're the best dentist Edina that I've found. The reason I say they're the best dentist Edina is that everything went smoothly with my oral surgery MN was a huge success. You can see their website at http://www.dentistedina.net or call them at 763-546-1301 for an appointment.

I just fell for the free teeth whitening products advertised on my web page.?

I was just suppose to pay S&H now my credit card got charged 24.99, 78.93 and 88.97. How do I fix this mess I'm in? My credit just got maxed out by them. I'm freaking out here. Help.
--------------------
Call you credit card company and block the company who is doing the charges. That way they can't charge anymore. While on the phone with them, I would ask them how to handle it. You can dispute the charges with the credit card company in some situations. I would also search online about this. I have a feeling many people have fallen for this and had to clean up the mess. There are probably instructions out there.

Can anyone advice me on what method of whitening is best? Zoom, lazer or those moulds that you put get into?
--------------------
I can say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit. The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips. The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) If you are going for one of these methods I would recommend the trays because you will be able to get more whitening gel and use them again at a later date, while the laser/zoom you get one or two treatments. All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again. Good luck! JAMRDH - a dental hygienist

teeth whitening..?

what should be used to whitens teeth??
--------------------
just follow this step.. 1.Brush and floss regularly to reduce or prevent stains 2.Try whitening toothpastes. Though heavily advertised, these only partially whiten teeth and don't provide a complete remedy. Make sure the toothpaste has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval and has been clinically proved to whiten teeth effectively. Very few whitening toothpastes have undergone any type of clinical trial, and ones that are too abrasive can damage teeth or make them very sensitive. 3.Get regular dental cleanings, which remove many food and tobacco stains. No amount of cleaning will remove the severe staining left by tetracycline or systemic disease because these pigments lie inside the tooth; you'll have to take more aggressive measures against these. 4.Consider the two options'in-office and at-home treatments'for bleaching your teeth. A dentist performs in-office treatments by coating the teeth with a bleaching agent, then using periodic flashes of light to activate the solution. Treatments last 30 to 60 minutes, and the complete procedure often requires several appointments. In at-home treatments, patients wear a mouth guard fitted with bleaching gel 2 hours a day for two weeks, depending on the severity of staining. 5.Think about getting veneers, which are custom-made shells bonded to the teeth with resins. This procedure often requires removing a small amount of tooth structure and is the most invasive'as well as the most expensive'treatment option.

I can't whiten my teeth anymore because i have a filling, right up front, and the stuff won't whiten it. What should i do? My teeth aren't yellow yet , but what foods and drinks should i avoid to keep them white? I brush my teeth alot.
--------------------
Just whiten them anyway. If you have been then why let one tooth stop you from doing what works? There are any number of foods and drinks to avoid. Blueberries.. cherries..coffee.. capuccino.. popsicles.. kool aid.. certain types of candy.. etc. Personally I would just brush after meals if I were that concerned about the staining. Cigarrettes over time will also discolor your teeth as well as drugs. The choice is yours...

Teeth Whitening??

Could someone tell me how much it costs to get your teeth whitened.. and if it takes more then one visit.. Thank you!
--------------------
Here is a ballpark cost range for what a dentist might charge for a single professional teeth whitening treatment. In some cases more than one treatment might be needed. $600 to $2000 Some dentists feel that their in-office bleaching treatments should be followed up with the use of an at-home whitener. If so, you can expect that there will be an additional cost for this additional treatment. A patient's costs might lie at the lower end of the price range stated above in those instances where a significant portion of the treatment process is performed by a staff member rather than solely the dentist. As another consideration, those dentists who incorporate an "activation" light or laser into the whitening process will have higher equipment costs than those who don't. These dentists will need to charge a relatively higher fee for their whitening treatments. All whitening products contain peroxide either as carbamide peroxide (CP) or hydrogen peroxide (HP). Peroxide dissolves the organic stains in the tooth to change the color and produce a whitened effect. There are four types of peroxide-containing tooth whitening products available: * In-practice products are applied by a dental professional. These products contain a high percentage of CP or HP and are applied directly to the teeth. Some activated by heat, light, or laser. This may be the product for you if you're in a hurry for whiter teeth and you don't have tooth sensitivity. For very dark-colored teeth, the whitening process can be sped up in two to three hours followed by a take-home product until the desired whiteness is achieved. * A take-home product supervised by a dentist is the most popular whitening method. These products contain a lesser percentage of CP or HP than in-practice products and are worn in a tray overnight or during the day at home. A custom-fitted tray is made to hold the whitening product directly against the teeth while lessening its contact with the gums. Some products have fluoride added to help prevent or treat mild tooth sensitivities. The typical stains of ageing will whiten in seven to fourteen days when the tray is worn overnight. * Over-the-counter (OTC) whitening products contain a small percentage of HP or CP. Caution should be used with these products as many contain an acidic solution that can wear away tooth enamel. OTC products use a bulky, one-size-fits-all tray to hold the product. Usually more product is swallowed than stays in the tray because of the trays poor fit against the teeth. It can take up to six months and the purchase of several kits to get whiter teeth. Flexible strips coated with whitening gel have recently been introduced as an OTC at-home tooth whitening method. The strips are worn on the front teeth and folded over to keep them in place. Results are reported to be noticeable after fourteen days and effective for 6 months. * Over-the-counter whitening toothpastes contain a small percentage of HP, CP, or polishing ingredient. The toothpastes are effective in keeping teeth cleaner and whiter looking but some may be very abrasive. The harsh abrasive will wear away the enamel with repeated use gradually making the teeth look yellow. Whitening toothpastes remove surface stains and prevent new stains from building up. Whitening toothpastes however aren't in contact with the teeth long enough to remove internal stains. Ask your dentist about the safety and cavity protection of specific toothpastes before you buy. Is it safe to whiten teeth at home by brushing with a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide ? How effective if at all is it ?
--------------------
Personally, I wouldn't use any non-dental products on my teeth, at least not medical products. Baking soda is excellent for brushing your teeth, and because it is a white product, at least it won't hurt. I don't know about the peroxide. Be aware, also, that all tooth whitening products are in effect scraping layers off your teeth. While this is permissible to some degree, it is best not to do it over and over or you will actually deteriorate your own teeth. It may look good for awhile but is destructive in the long run. Personally, I use Arm & Hammer toothepaste with extra whitening. It's not drastic, it requires no other effort, and it's relatively healthy.

how much does it cost to have a dentist whiten teeth? how long will your teeth stay white? what are some of the cons?
--------------------
I was in the Broward mall the other day and they had an open booth of getting your teeth whitened. So you can actually see the people smiling into the rays. The cost was $100, but usually it is more than that, I wouldn't trust it. I use Armand Hammer toothpaste, and it seems to work great! Hope this helps!=D

teeth whitening?

is using baking soda to whiten your teeth bad for your teeth?
--------------------
NOOOO!!!! Baking soda directly on your teeth will weaken and break down the enamel. Some products, like arm & hammer, have very small amounts of baking soda which is not very harmful becuase it is in a small dose. If you cannot afford to get your teeth professionally whitened, use any over the counter product like Crest white strips. Do not use these products for longer than indicated on the box. Small amounts of bleaching product is ok for teeth, but too much will break down the enamel of your teeth and cause sensitivity. Just make sure to use a toothpaste with fluoride in it to help fight any sensitivity and cavities. Fluoride naturally occurs in the enamel of our teeth, bleaching and acidic foods cause it to break down and wear away our enamel. So please heed my advice for a beautiful smile! (Don't forget to floss!!!)

I've tried Crest Whitestrips and they cause too much sensitivity for me. Has anyone tried or know of anyone who has tried using the overnight whiteners that you paint/brush on your teeth? How did it work for you? What brand did you use? :) Thanks for the input!
--------------------
Ive tried the overnight whitening paint but it doesnt seem to agree with my teeth. It became very sensitive but my suggestion to you is to consult your dentist as they will do the whitening prcocedure which costs a bit more but its one procedure that you have after a repeat yearly or not even, besides, you have to use a lot of overnight whiteners to give you the results you want

Natural teeth are preferred but if they have considerable stains, then yes, always go with the whitening.

okay so i want to whiten my teeth but i dont want to buy the ones in walmart or w/e bcuz i herd they cause tounge cancer so i want a homemade one nd i was wondering if ne1 knows how to whiten their teeth using household products!!!...easy nd cheap please!!!
--------------------
The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives' recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively. Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter. Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.…

what is the best way to get your teeth white? i would really like to whiten my teeth but i need to know the best way to do it. preferably the best and cheapest way. i can't go anywhere to actually get them done. i mean a product that actually works. which ones do you use if any and how well do they work? about how much did you pay for it? any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks!
--------------------
there is soo much stuff out there! i have tried the whitening strips and trays. and they do work, as long as you do it just like they say. i found them time consuming and messy and yucky tasting. but i just got some new toothpaste, arm and hammer whitening. and right next to it is arm and hammer whitening booster. its a smaller tube and its supposed to be put write over your regular toothpaste--read the directions for kind of toothpaste it needs to be, has flouride in it or something like that. anyways, its gonna take time, but i can already tell a difference in my teeth and its been maybeee a week. and its no extra time--just reg. teethbrushing time. good luck

Just got them laser whitened by zoom two days ago. My teeth never got sensitive but my gums are SO sensitive, hurts to brush my teeth. bleeds a little, even When does this go away? And when can i start drinking tea and red wine again?
--------------------
Takes some time. Perhaps about 1 week. You might want to ask your dentist for a prescription for Colgate Prevident Gel to reduce sensitivity. Would wait 1 week prior to staining foods, but ask the dentist just to make sure.

My teeth are very yellow. It seems like no matter what I do or how often I brush my teeth, they won't whiten. I have crowns on my 2 front teeth so I don't think I can use crest whitestrips. I brush my teeth very often with no results, what should I do outside of crest whitestrips or power bleaching?
--------------------
Unless you are willing to change your crowns, especially because they are on your front teeth, you may not want to whiten your teeth. If you do then, Zoom (in office bleaching is the best way). Don't waste your money on over the counter stuff. Also, you can get bleaching trays from your dentist. If you are willing to spend the money go for it!!! I am sure it will look great. Good Luck.

hey does any one know of a way to whiten your teeth without using something with poison in it like the tooth paste? I also need them whiter in two days and i don't really have any money so something cheap maybe a home remedies or something please thank you

I don't think a company would make something to go in your mouth with poison in it...but who knows. Anyway, I have the Rembrandt 5-minute Tooth Whitening Kit which I bought from Rite Aid for about $10. You use for 5-10 minutes twice a day and I definitely saw results in 2 days. Good luck!

what is the cheapest, most effective way to whiten your teeth with lasting results??

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html
