teeth whitening!?

ive used crest whitening strips.... BUT i didnt have time to use them every day! is there sometime that works well, and is highly recommended that will have faster results ?? thanks xxoo
--------------------
What may work for one person, doesn't work for another. There really isn't a fast, simple way of having whiter teeth. My best advice, speak to your dentist about having a bleaching treatment. But realize, they ARE risks to whitining your teeth.

I have v white teeth i wanna try to get them like hollywood white, i like how it looks, andone recomend anything?
--------------------
i had the same problem with yellowish teeth and i found this product is very effective and very cheap http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com/ i use it on a regular basis and it keeps my teeth white and looking great. It only costs about $30 AUD including the tray for you teeth and a couple of syringes with the gel, Which is cheap compared to the dentist. I put my trays in about twice a week for an hour each and you can notice the difference straight away. I also use it before i have a special occasion and take it out right before i leave. I get lots of compliments on my white teeth which is great. they're also very straight which helps, lol once i had a friends mum ask me if I've been 'sucking on bleach'. haha she was over-exaggerating but you can definitely notice the before and after difference. It doesn't hurt your teeth it just feels a little uncomfortable with the tray in your mouth. I asked around heeps before buying any products and i compared prices, at one stage i was going to go to the dentist and get it professionally done but im sooo glad i tried this out. Ive actually ordered it twice within the past year and am using my second lot now. Also use teeth whitening toothpaste and brush your teeth at least twice a day, if you eat meals at home always brush your teeth after woulds to keep any stains of. And of course avoid coffee and coke if you really want to maintain your pearly whites :)

i live in new york and i am seeking a professional dentist to bleach my teeth for an affordable price. any affordable places in where i can go? i have been to a few places that are charging $600. i don't want to pay more than $300. any suggestions will be great. thanks. i have tried the do it yourself options at home but none of them work. i am ready to save up the cash and have it done right
--------------------
i use a pre rinse whitening listerine mouth wash and crest white strips and my teeth are just as white as they would be if i did it professionally. also on ebay i bought a blue light thing that you put the whitening gel thats on the strips on your teeth ...it works like if you ever bought the whitening kit for while using tanning beds..its great

my daughter is 13 and wants whiter teeth. obviosly i dont want t get her anything too strong, i was thinking more a toothpaste. what would you sugest?
--------------------
The old standard of baking soda and peroxide helps a little bit and certainly cannot hurt her or her teeth in any way. Yet I would see a dentist about professional whitening as opposed to any tooth whitening system even Crest White Strips. Even in adults the use of CWS leads to sensitivity sometimes even in the first use. This would be bad enough for an adult to experience much less your teenage daughter. Good Luck!!!

Does anyone know teeth bleaching toothpastes? that are really effective? thats actually work and are affordable?
--------------------
Do, these Nature Cure : Dental care & mouth care. After every meal, chew a little salt and gargle with water. Soft brush can be used to clean the particles caught between the teeth and the gums. Make it habit to clean the teeth every morning and before retiring to bed. In India, people use thin twig of a Babul, Banyan or a Neem tree (known as Datoon) as a brush. First it is to be crushed to make it soft and then use it like a brush. It is advisable to us a Datoon of Babul, Banyan or Neem tree at least once a day. It is reported by experienced dentists that tooth pastes available in the marked are not much effective. Instead, the following tooth powder or paste which can be easily made at home has been found quite useful for the care of gums and teeth : 1. Tooth Powder : Mixture of finely ground alum powder 40% and rock salt or regular salt powder 60%. For better results, a few drops of lemon may be added. In case of dental problems, adding a little of 'Sudarshan' (a bitter Ayrvedic powder is also recommended. 2. Tooth-paste : For dental problemslike bleeding, pyorrhoea, toothache, etc. make a paste of 50% alum powder 10% rock salt or table salt powder 10% Sudarshan powder (an Ayurvedic preparation) 15% edible oil (unrefined) 10% glycerine tanic acid 5% camphor. The paste made of this mixture can be massaged on the teeth and gums in the morning and evening with fingers. It ca be packed in collapsible tubes/jars and used, as tooth-paste. 3. Even massaging the gums with a mixture of 70% unrefined edible oil (seasame or groundnut or coconut), 15% glycerine tanic acid and 15% fine powder of rock salt or table salt is useful for good, healthy teeth and gums. Make it a daily habit. Please not that healthy gums are more useful than sparkling white teeth. 4. Mouth Freshener : Gargling with a lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water, freshens the mouth. Take a quarter of a lemon, massage it on teeth and gums and then gargle with water. Even chewing of mango, tulsi or betel leaves after meals is good, and so it is advised in India. 5. Exercises for teeth : Keep the lips closed. Pound the upper teeth on lower teeth for 30 to 40 times twice a day. Then massage the saliva on gums with the tongue. That will ensure proper blood circulation in teeth and increase the life of healthy teeth and gums.

how expensive is it to have it done professionally? the at home treatments do not work very well for me. Did it make your teeth sensitive?
--------------------
It usually costs around 150-250 depending on the dr's fees. The Zoom 1hr whitening works very well. We have patients that were very satisfied with the results. Call around im sure some offices have whitening specials.

What's the best tooth whitening toothpaste avalible in the Uk?

My teeth are a little yellow and i was wondering did anyone know of a good tooth whitening toothpaste that you can buy in the uk in a shop such as boots?
--------------------
Whitening toothpastes only work up to a point (usually only remove surface stains, and only partially because they work by abrasion). If you really want to whiten your teeth, get some sort of tooth whitening product, or better yet, go see you dentist. One additional note on tooth whitening products. The main active ingredient in them is hydrogen peroxide, the maximum level of which is regulated in the EU. The problem is that in the case of cosmetics products (basically anything you can buy in a regular shop) the maximum level allowed is not enough to actually whiten teeth. So whatever you find on shop shelves either doesn't really work, or if it does, it's not entirely legal. Regulations in the US are different and peroxide levels in products there are much higher.

teeth whitening products...?

I've used Crest Whitening Strips once and they worked well, but I honestly don't want to spend $30 just to get white teeth! Does anyone know if those Whitening mouthwashes work well??
--------------------
Whitening mouth washes don't really work to dramatically whiten teeth, but they can do some quick maintenance after you've whitening (i.e. they'll keep your teeth from re-staining as quickly). You can try mixing hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and rubbing that on, but it works better for some people than others. You can also often find some really good deals online so that you don't have to pay as much for Crest.

Teeth whitening... which brand?

I'm fourteen and would like to whiten my teeth at home. Do you suggest any brand of whitening strips? (Crest, Colgate, etc?) Thanks, Natalie

Crest is good for a quick whitening job, but Colgate is better for the long-term and will likely have less negative affects on your teeth.

Teeth Whitening? (:?

Okay, I want/need my teeth whitened. For that past 2 days i've been rinsing my mouth out with peroxide. DON'T say get white strips/go to dentist.nothing like that. What is some more home uses that will work? and how long should I do the peroxide. and i don't have baking soda, it expired in 98. LOL Also, don't say buy anything at alll. cause I can't.
--------------------
Brush and floss your teeth thoroughly twice a day and rinse your mouth with water after finishing the normal brushing routine. I would personally suggest NuvoraWhite, which has helped me get back my white teeth. What is notable about this product is that it doesn't have any side effects. You can learn more here - http://www.nuvorainc.com/white-learn-mor…

Teeth Whitening?

Can tooth whitening be convered by dental insurance? I want tot get mine whitened but the in office one costs hundreds of dollars that isn't covered by insurance? If not, does anyone know of a good in home tooth whitener that works really well and works quickly?
--------------------
Whitening most likely will NOT be covered by insurance because it's considered a cosmetic procedure. Insurance will only cover what needs to be done for health reasons...not to make you look good. I have used Whitestrips, and an occassional whitening toothpaste. You can also try "White Light" which uses a gel and a little blue light. I can notice a difference after just a few uses. If you want to just buy the gel, you can always use the sports mouthguards to keep the gel on your teeth without getting it all over. (Boil the mouthguard in water until it can move a little...then stick it in your mouth while it can still move but it's not too hot. If you bite down, it should form to the shape of your mouth and teeth.) Anyway, hope this helps...and good luck!

Teeth Whitening?

My best friend in the world whitened his teeth last week. He used bleach, baking soda and ammonia. They looked really white at first, but he's been in the county ER twice. What do y'all recommend for a home-aid teeth solution? Thanks.
--------------------
none! you need to get a solution that is meant for teeth. try crest white strips. also to prevent staining, do not smoke, drink red wine, dark sodas, tea or coffee. if you do make sure you brush with a whitening toothpaste immediatly afterwards.

teeth whitening?

hi! what are some ways to whiten your teeth? besides the Crest strips and such. i once heard there was something you could make with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth. is that true? any others?
--------------------
Here is a ballpark cost range for what a dentist might charge for a single professional teeth whitening treatment. In some cases more than one treatment might be needed. $600 to $2000 Some dentists feel that their in-office bleaching treatments should be followed up with the use of an at-home whitener. If so, you can expect that there will be an additional cost for this additional treatment. A patient's costs might lie at the lower end of the price range stated above in those instances where a significant portion of the treatment process is performed by a staff member rather than solely the dentist. As another consideration, those dentists who incorporate an "activation" light or laser into the whitening process will have higher equipment costs than those who don't. These dentists will need to charge a relatively higher fee for their whitening treatments. All whitening products contain peroxide either as carbamide peroxide (CP) or hydrogen peroxide (HP). Peroxide dissolves the organic stains in the tooth to change the color and produce a whitened effect. There are four types of peroxide-containing tooth whitening products available: * In-practice products are applied by a dental professional. These products contain a high percentage of CP or HP and are applied directly to the teeth. Some activated by heat, light, or laser. This may be the product for you if you're in a hurry for whiter teeth and you don't have tooth sensitivity. For very dark-colored teeth, the whitening process can be sped up in two to three hours followed by a take-home product until the desired whiteness is achieved. * A take-home product supervised by a dentist is the most popular whitening method. These products contain a lesser percentage of CP or HP than in-practice products and are worn in a tray overnight or during the day at home. A custom-fitted tray is made to hold the whitening product directly against the teeth while lessening its contact with the gums. Some products have fluoride added to help prevent or treat mild tooth sensitivities. The typical stains of ageing will whiten in seven to fourteen days when the tray is worn overnight. * Over-the-counter (OTC) whitening products contain a small percentage of HP or CP. Caution should be used with these products as many contain an acidic solution that can wear away tooth enamel. OTC products use a bulky, one-size-fits-all tray to hold the product. Usually more product is swallowed than stays in the tray because of the trays poor fit against the teeth. It can take up to six months and the purchase of several kits to get whiter teeth. Flexible strips coated with whitening gel have recently been introduced as an OTC at-home tooth whitening method. The strips are worn on the front teeth and folded over to keep them in place. Results are reported to be noticeable after fourteen days and effective for 6 months. * Over-the-counter whitening toothpastes contain a small percentage of HP, CP, or polishing ingredient. The toothpastes are effective in keeping teeth cleaner and whiter looking but some may be very abrasive. The harsh abrasive will wear away the enamel with repeated use gradually making the teeth look yellow. Whitening toothpastes remove surface stains and prevent new stains from building up. Whitening toothpastes however aren't in contact with the teeth long enough to remove internal stains. Ask your dentist about the safety and cavity protection of specific toothpastes before you buy.
