Professional teeth whitening at the dentist: does it last/is it worth the money??

My teeth have gotten yellow over the years due to being a coffee drinker. I get those little cheap whitening kits from Rembrant and the white-strips, and they do a so-so job of removing the yellowness. It doesn't really get my teeth white; it just makes them look a little bit better. But after I do the two-week plan of white-strips and stop using them, my teeth get yellow again very quickly. This summer I am thinking of saving up and having my teeth professionally whitened at the dentist. I think it costs about $350. I was wondering if anyone has some input on whether it is worth the money. When you have it done professionally, does it last at least a year or so??? I don't want to spend that kind of money if my teeth are going to end up yellow again after a month or two. Thanks.

the extra white you get with professional is very temporary. The Rembrandt kit has the same ingredient, just weaker solution. Try a second kit. Few people get white white teeth, but get improvement in their overall lightness
