Okay, so i was given braces at the age of 11. and then, at twelve, they changed the brackets to a POWERCHAIN. and if anybody isn't aware of what a powerchain is, its the most painful, thinnest rubberband thats stretches all accross your teeth. braces:http://www.smilecareindia.com/images/Col

its excruciating for months. and if you aren't consistently brushing your teeth, you will get permanent decalcification marks. and its horrible. because i was TWELVE through FOURTEEN years old during my time with a powerchain. i was NEVER even considering the idea of responsibility. including brushing my teeth a gazillion times a day. and so, once i get my power chain off... no doubt...i have beyond noticable decalcification...like this... http://wigginsorthodontics.com/images/li
and i went to my dentist and he told me that it would be faded off within a few years.. well now its been SEVERAL years since i was told that horrible lie. the decalcification is still there. after YEARS post-braces. that is why...for my sixteenth birthday...the only thing i truly want is to get my teeth whitened. but i mean....professionally whitened. not the crap you can buy at drugstores. i mean an actual professional practice or whatever that includes SPECIALTY in professional teeth whitening. and i would appreciate it if somebody could give me some average price ranges for something like this. i live in the DC area.

Talk to a dentist. Tooth whitening, no matter what is used will not remove the decalcification white spots and often it makes them more apparent. There may be other things that he can do after the bleaching that could get rid of them. good luck.
