i have brought a tooth whitening kit which contains the gel gum shield type things and a laser light. after getting home and reading the instructions it says not reccomended for pregnant women....why is thins as it has no explanation as to why...seems there is nothing a pregnant woman can do lol....are they just saying this to cover there own backs or is there an actual reason as to why. obviously i do not want to put my baby at risk if there is a logical explanation..would be gratefull for any serious answers thanks

It's just in case you swallow some of the gel, it can be quite strong and no studies have been done to see the effects of this, so in a way they are covering their own backs. Also, your teeth can be more sensitve during pregnancy which can be really uncomfortable.
