I know it sounds stupid, but you know how you see that "zoom" whitening technique on TV where a crazy blue light whitens people's teeth? A tanning bed has crazy blue light. Are the UV rays the same? Could I whiten my teeth and get tan at the same time?

No, a tanning bed does not emmit the same type of UVs used for tooth whitening, however if you get a tan your teeth will appear to be whiter because of the difference in contrast. That's why dark skinned people often look like they have brilliantly white teeth.
