i've heard a lot of talk that whitening strips can affect the enamel, is it true? & are there any other harmful effects those strips can cause?

yep..in excess. it will make your gums sore and your teeth really sensitive. I've been using this toothpaste call "Pronamel", it's kinda expensive but it helps build your enamel back up. even my dentist says my teeth are stronger.
