I have a permanent retainer behind my front top teeth. My dad is friends with a dentist and he got whitening trays for a discounted price. His teeth are so white now and he said he would get them for me too (i'm 14 and my teeth are kinda yellow) but will the whitening trays affect the permanent retainer?

It depends upon the product which you or your dentist will apply on your teeth for whitening purposes, A few products are well and famous for it but they actually are not made for a few certain teeth, Affect may take place or not. Check the manuals first or consult with the dentist before you go for such operation.
