Is it true that bicarbonate soda, vinegar and salt whiten teeth?

This was a discussion that I had with some friends today! Also...does the bicarbonate soda not destroy the enamel on your teeth?
--------------------
Baking soda dissolves easily, and is a mild abrasive, so if you furiously brush your teeth 3 times a day with this, yes you will destroy your enamel. So the point is that because it is a powerful cleaner to use it sparingly Same goes for salt Vinegar is an organic acid (acetic acid) and acids remove calcium from your enamel which can cause tooth decay. So again when you use it too often and don't clean up after it, like neutralizing it with water or brushing with regular paste, then it definitely can destroy your enamel But they are all very powerful and useful natural teeth whiteners, the trick is to only use them every now and then and don't go overboard. And clean up after it, with a regular brushing, fresh water rinse and mouthwash
