I already know that baking soda has been proven to whiten teeth, but im confused about why that happens, and how often i should do it. 10 points for best answers! Some say to apply it as many times you use toothpaste throughout a day (which i assume is about 3 times a day), others sware you should use it maybe 1 or 2 times a week. What is the final answer? Hows the best way of applying it too? (dipping your toothbrush in it? using it as a mouthwash?) and Why does it whiten your teeth? People say that it is wearing away at your enamel which is why it looks white, others say it really just gets rid of the crud on your teeth) please I need to know! reliable sources would be much appreciated Thanks guys!

This Should Help: Step 1. Use regular toothpaste to brush your teeth and rinse. Step 2. Fill a cup with clean water. Step 3. Get a small, disposable cup, a box of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a plastic spoon. Step 4. Spoon out approximately 2 tsp. of baking soda into the disposable cup. Measure out about 1 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide and pour it into the cup. Mix the two ingredients thoroughly. Add more baking soda or hydrogen peroxide until you have a paste with the consistency of regular toothpaste. Step 5. Add a drop or two of your favorite toothpaste into the cup for flavor. Mix all three ingredients. Step 6. Wet your toothbrush. Step 7. Dip the toothbrush into the paste. Get the paste on all sides of the toothbrush. Step 8. Brush your teeth with the paste. Step 9. Rinse your mouth well with the water from your pre-filled cup. Take small sips at a time and swish the water to remove all traces of the paste from your mouth. Step 10. Repeat once a week. Good Luck :)
