Not by surgery, but by bleeching
--------------------
You should be in your later teens (high school) as you should have all of your permanent teeth when you whiten. If you are young the whitening products can tend to cause a lot of sensitivity. If you have braces it will also not work well. First thing you need to do is have a thorough dental cleaning and see how they look after that since buildup (plaque, tartar and stain) will be removed at that time. Then if whitening is an option, use a mild treatment like Crest Whitestrips. Your baby teeth were probably much whiter and that is very normal. Hope that helps! JAMRDH - a dental hygienist
