I recently had my braces removed and was thinking about whitening my teeth. Would it be a good idea to take a regular bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide and foam it in my mouth, then put my essix retainers over it then rinse. Would this work or be dangerous?

Not sure.. I know a lot of people that do that.. but you can (SAFELY) Use toothpaste with baking soda, and before you brush your teeth, dip your toothbrush in baking soda. Works wonders! =)
