Can a dentist really whiten stained teeth again?

Like not smoker, coffee yellow, but kinda tinted is that fixable? I don't go to the dentist much and probably need a lot of work when I do get insurance and go....I was just wondering what they can and can't fix....

yes. i got custom bleaching trays (and bleach) from my dentist and it worked amazingly (and i don't smoke but i love coffee and iced tea lol)! i think it cost me like $50 for the trays and $40 for the syringes of the bleach. but, most dentists around me are offering free whitening when you have a "new appointment." even if you need a lot of work done, you don't have to get it done unless it is really going to effect your health. just tell your dentist you don't have a lot of money...they might be able to put you on a payment plan if you need a lot done. you could also try a dental school if you have one around you. they can pretty much do any procedure, for a lot less. or you could try crest whitestrips...those generally work for typical stains (like coffee, tea, berries, etc). hope this helps! :]
