I heard Hydrogen Peroxide whitens teeth?

okay i heard this b4 and not a long time ago i looked in our first aid cabinet and saw a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. is this wut ppl are talking about??? or is it something different?

The hydrogen peroxide in your medicine cabinet is not strong enough to make a real difference in your teeth. The tooth whitening products that are some commercially have a higher concentration. And the ones the dentist uses are even more concentrated. Still, if you want to try using the peroxide as a mouthwash, it shouldn't be a problem. Some people see some whitening after a week or so, but for most people, it just doesn't do that much good. A better home-made suggestion would be to make a paste out of the peroxide and some baking powder from the grocery store. Then, use that as your toothpaste. That will show some results, because the paste stays right on your teeth while you are brushing, instead of just rinsing away in a couple of seconds. But it still will not be anything close to what you can get from the dentist.
