I had tooth whitening treatment - where you lie under the bright light - cost £500 and wasn't that good. I then had "trays" made by my dentist - they take moulds of your teeth (trays) which you fill with a small amount of bleach and put in over night - after a couple of days you have gleaming white teeth. The price is approx £200 but once you have the trays you can just top up when you teeth begin to discolour. It is best to see a dentist for this - the trays need to be made to fit your own teeth rather than the kits you buy which are one size fits all - the problem with the highstreet version is that it is easy for the bleach to get on the gums and then this can cause blisters etc. The bleach costs approx £50 for four tubes - it comes in various strengths which your dentist will advise on. I am very pleased with the results - you must discuss this with your dentist - some teeth will never whiten so it is not worth spending any money until you have had a consultation with an expert.
