Can I wear whitening strip on my teeth overnight?

even though it says to wear only for an hour....would it really do damage?

In a way, it depends on the white strip that you're using. Listerine sells whitening strips that dissolve in your mouth, so if you used these, you most likely could wear them overnight, with no worries of them messing anything up in the morning. They do their job, then disappear. With Crest whitening strips, however, it is not recommended that you wear them overnight. Rembrandt strips also recommend this. I would imagine they put out this precaution just to keep people from swallowing the actual strip, or even ingesting too much of the chemical stuff they put on it. I would recommend if you want to sleep with them in, the Listerine ones would be the way to go.
