Whitening teeth - bleached gums?

I just had my braces taken off two days ago and they gave me a whitening kit. I just put some on my teeth and when i took it off a bit of my gums were bleached. :/ now is this permeant or will it change back to the normal pink colour in a day or so?

If your gums appeared white spots or swelling or even bleeding after teeth whitening, that means your gums had been burned temporarily by teeth whitening whitener. It is common and temporary, the white spots on gums will resolve itself within 1 - 2 days after STOP using the whitener. You can daub Vitamin E liquid onto the affected area to encourage speedy healing. The important things to avoid the teeth whitening whitener from inadvertently irritating your gums are : 1. Do not let the teeth whitening bleach run into your gums as far as possible. 2. Rinse with water thorough after teeth whitening. http://www.teethwhiteningbest.com/teeth-…
