Why do the British have yellow teeth?

I was recently in the UK, on vacation. I noticed how yellow/orange most peoples teeth were. Here in the US there are many teeth whitening products and dentists that make teeth whiter. You can even use baking soda to whiten teeth, so why are the Brits so lazy when it comes to making their teeth look healthy. (they may be healthy but yellow doesn;t look too good.)
