What happens if you use whitening toothpaste and you have a filling?

I might need to get a filling in one of my front teeth, so it will be on display for everyone to see. I am really nervous about this and I'm scared it is going to be noticeable. If I use whitening toothpaste will it just whiten everything except the filling and make the filling noticeable?

Whitening toothpaste will not whiten fillings, crowns, etc. Since you'll probably be getting ceramic or tooth-colored fillings, it won't be noticeable. If your teeth do become noticeably whiter and the filling starts showing, your dentist would be able to fix it if you are really uncomfortable with it being like that. Hope this helps!:)
