Can you use baking powder to whiten your teeth instead of baking soda?

I was searching the web and saw little to nothing about substituting baking powder for baking soda. I am also wondering what the difference is. :) Thanks for all answers.

No, they are different things. Baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate. It has a low PH and is mildly abrasive. Baking powder contains some sodium bicarbonate, but also contains things you don't want to brush your teeth with, such as cream of tartar (acidic). The best thing to use when brushing your teeth is called tooth paste, preferably with fluoride.
