Why can't children under the age 12 use many teeth whitening products?

I know a lot of teeth things say you should be 12 and over. Is this because they don't want you to make your baby teeth white and then just lose them?
--------------------
No it has nothing to do with your baby teeth. At the age of 12 the pulp chamber (where the nerve is) is too large and you would develop severe sensitivity. You know how when you bite into ice cream or a popsicle with your front teeth, you can really feel the cold? this is kind of the same thing. As we age, the pulp chamber shrinks, thus making our teeth less sensitive to colds, and the solution used to whiten teeth. Also, because the pulp chamber is larger, this makes teeth look more yellow, so your teeth will whiten somewhat as you get a little older. Hope this helps you.
