I'm not looking for whitening strips or the aqua fresh whitening trays. I'm looking for something that will actually work. What should I use? I want white teeth fast, but I don't want teeth that are super extremely sensitive either.

Hi... I drink coffee (don't smoke) and my teeth are not as white as they once were. I want to 'whiten' them but I have a little gum recession so white strips are irritating to my gums. I know why I have recession and have discussed it with my dentist (so I am on top of prevention). Can anyone recommend anything I can use to safely whiten my teeth? Thanks! :-)

Whitening teeth after braces?
I'm getting my braces off December 5th (about 3 weeks) and I know that they are not as shiny and white as they were when the braces went on. I wanted your opinion (from personal experience) on what whitening treatment are most easy and effective. Also, let me know some that I definitely shouldn't use if they cause sensitivity or wear off in less than a month or two. Thanks!

can i use my retainers as trays for teeth whitening?
My dentist does offer teeth whitening, but it costs $200 for the mouth trays and some bleach gel. I already have retainers that look a lot like the mouth trays, and i'm wondering if i can use these retainers instead of having to pay so much for the trays, and then just buy the bleaching gel. I have the clear plastic kind of retainer that's molded to my teeth, -- it looks like Invisalign. the retainers are pretty tight fitting though, so i don't know if there's any room for the gel in there, or if it would just get squished up into my gums. When you go to the dentist to get those fitted mouth trays made for bleaching, how tightly do they hug your teeth?

Question about this method of teeth whitening.?
So I found out some methods of teeth whitening that sound pretty good. I heard about strawberries, extra virgin olive oil and hydrogen peroxide. I'm leaning towards the peroxide. So I was wondering how do I use it. Do I miss it with my toothpaste? Put it on my toothbrush and brush with it? Swish it around in my mouth like mouthwash? Also, I was wondering when to use it. After brushing? I use Act mouthwash, do I use it before or after using that? In between brushing and the mouthwash? Because I have to wait 30 minutes to eat after using the Act. I know I make it seem complicated, but I don't want the different things to interfere with each other. Thanks so much!!

Okay, so I have quit smoking and I really want my teeth to be white again. I have been looking on ebay for some home teeth whitening kits but don't want to buy from E-Bay nor do I want to pay a dentist a small fortune to do the job. I am getting my brces off soon and I was wondering what product is best for whitening teeth. The braces have limited my brushing and my teeth have turned yellow. I personally like Crest Whitestrips (Premium Plus especially). I have used them before and they did whiten my teeth. Plus they're relatively cheap! You will be able to whiten immediately after your braces are removed. However, if your teeth are really sensitive, bleaching can make it worse. Good luck!

Teeth whitening/sensitive teeth?
My teeth hurt for a few minutes after eating ice cream, but I want to whiten them. I've tried over the counter stuff, crest white Strips, etc. and nothing. I'm willing to pay a couple hundred bucks at the dentist, but do you think this could create problems? It's not like I need to eat much, I weigh only two pounds less than Mariah Carey, and she's quite the chunkster now.

I didn't even finish the ones I had left. It was a big difference from beforehand and I would definitely recommend them.

I mean in the same appointment... Like, get my braces off and then directly go to whitening my teeth. My orthodontist is my regular dentist too so do you think he could do that? Also is it common to do so after removing braces?

Well, on the 2nd picture that is up that shows a before and after image, the after image is not real....they have airbrushed the teeth white, so I wouldn't expect a result like that. It's also patent pending which means the product hasn't been aproved yet by medical associations (I think). So just be very careful as there are alot of horror stories about teeth whitening kits.

I feel stupid. My mom never buys me deodorant so I always use my moms or my sisters everyday without telling anyone. Also, I really wanted whitening strips..So I knew before I went to the store that I wanted these things, and I was like "okay i'm just being stupid and there's nothing to be shy about".. In the hydrogen perxoide you buy at Wallmart it will be a 3% solution or less. The baking soda gets rid of stains and the hydrogen peroxide bleaches. And yes, this works, but of course you won't see dramatic results very quickly. Avoid the stawberries or fruit which are highly acidic and strip the enamel. Your dentist wants to charge you $400 for 'laser' whitening, which is not laser whitening but bleaching using a hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide solution which is much stronger - even as high as 30%. This bleaches more effectively and is quicker, but is often the EXACT same active ingredient. You can also buy home trays with gel and apply them yourself for around $40. It depends on the dentist... Some of them are uncomfortable doing dental work with a tongue ring in, but this is pretty minor stuff so most dentists will let you keep it in unless its in the way. Even if you do have to take it out it won't be long enough for your tongue to close up. Professional whitening takes a couple of sessions. Good Luck! =)

I was surprised to know that even some dentists are giving it there approval. You can get a free trial now if you fancy giving it a go. I just had my braces taken off two days ago and they gave me a whitening kit. I just put some on my teeth and when i took it off a bit of my gums were bleached. :/ now is this permeant or will it change back to the normal pink colour in a day or so?

alright....well I am freaking out about my teeth! cheap teeth whitening ! Some choices for cheap teeth whitening? any help? how?

ok, so, to start, i SUCK at brushing my teeth. i do it frequently, but not nearly enough and my teeth are yellow. not a gross yellow, but most definitely not white. ive had braces for 2 years now. i get them off on november 17, and im scared! im worried my mom will have what they call "puzzle pieces", or whiter areas where the braces were and yellowish where i was supposed to brush. i know for a fact i need to whiten them. so, how do i do this? if i whiten them, will the yellowish turn lighter and the place where my braces were turn even brighter? do you suggest a brand to use that works? please and thank you to everyone who answers. i really appreciate it.

Teeth Whitening w/o Pain?
I'd like to whiten my teeth but I've heard the Crest Whitestrips cause extreme tooth sensitivity like putting jumper cables on your teeth while hooked to a battery pain. I have fairly sensitive teeth to begin with, especially cold, not so much hot. I don't know what to use...there's the Whitestrips, the Rembrandt stuff, I think Listerine has some too. Also, what one's whiten best? Thanks for any help.

And its always good for touch-ups if you notice your teeth are getting a little discolored. Will a teeth whitening procedure last?
So I haven't had the best teeth. Infact, I'm a little embarrassed of them and wish I could improve their colour (they're slightly yellowish... and it turns out that's my "natural" colour and not some stains you can remove with teeth cleaning). My local dentist does teeth bleaching for around $375, but only said that it lasts 6 months to a year. Do these procedures typically last that long? What other alternatives do I have that actually work (like strips, do they make a difference)? I'm kind of desperate at this point, sigh, but don't know if I'm willing to pay so much for such a short-term thing =/ Any help will do.

it may damage teeth but there are no long term studies on these products because they have just come out. Teeth are NOT supposed to be white. Teeth are naturally off-white/ ivory colored. So just keep your teeth clean and dont use all of the whitening hype products.

Hey guys! my teeth are quite stained which of course means they are slightly yellow... and i need to do something about it! i was looking at products which would whiten my teeth however had a few questions that needed answering..so if any of you know the asnwers please comment :) firstly, do these whitening kits/strips really work? i mean i hear about them alot however don't actually kno if the results end up as great as they make out. secondly, could you give me a list of products that i could use for teeth whitening.. if any of you have tried any then please share it with me :D so far iv been looking at crest whitestrips but are there any others you reccomend? lastly... the main question is... my bottom teeth.. 2 teeh have gone slightly bak =\ and so i was just wondering would the products still work or would i have to straighten my teeth before trying out any whitening products/kits? :S thank you in advance!

Whitening super sensitive teeth?
I have super sensitive teeth. I started using crest white strips and after 2 days my teeth started to hurt every time I ate or drank anything. I've quit using them but I still want whiter teeth. Is there any type of whitening system I can use that won't make my teeth more sensitive?

The same thing happened to me, my teeth were so sensitive that I couldn't even sleep because they kept aching, and I couldn't eat or drink anything hot or cold. So now I just use whitening toothpaste once a day and sensitive teeth toothpaste the other time during the day that I brush my teeth.

Recommendations for teeth whitening?
In 14 days I will FINALLY be getting my braces taken off after almost 7 years of being in them. My question is what is the best over the counter whitening system for somebody who wants great results in a couple days time? I realize that the best option for me would be to go to the dentist and have him whiten my teeth but I just do not have the resources for that right now. My husband, who has never seen me without braces yet, will be home from his deployment 5 days after I get them off and I just want them to look nice and bright. Any suggestions?

Well I'm 12.And I was on google for soft prices on health-care and I came on teeth whitening in the dental categories.By the way the website is pricedoc.com. ok just got my teeth whitening kit from the dentist and he told me to wear my upper gum shield for 2 nights and then wear the bottom shield for 2 nights (repeating this proceeder for 2 weeks). both gum shields feel more comforable if i had them in together though, so i'm thinking about just wearing them both for 2 nights and having a rest from it totally for 2 days and carrying it on. as anyone done this procedure? did you sleep with both of them in at once?, thanks

has anyone tried that teeth whitening thing? you can get it from argos. you bite it and switch it on and the light is supposed to whitn your teeth? just wondering if it actually works or not and if there is a chance it can give you mouth cancer? i'm greatful for any help as i am thinking about purchasing one of these

this may sound weired but it really does work! crush a strawberry and mix it wit baking soda until you have a thick, well mixed batch. then dip your toothbrush in it and brush your teeth! when your done just rub an extra strawberry over your teeth.Strawberries have an acid that eliminate stains, so this should help. Teeth whitening?
I'm thinking about getting my teeth whitened. I heard about laser whitening. Has anybody had it done and does it work? It's going to cost £100 for 4 sessions, or I could get it done at the dentist where they just make one of those gum shield things to put on your teeth with bleach. That will cost £300. Which one should I go for?

My dentist told me that there are 2 types of teeth. There are teeth that have more of a yellow shade and some that have more of a grey shade. He told me that those people with more of a yellow shade have much better results with teeth whitening, so if you do not fit in this category, I would suggest spending less money on it, as your results wont be as good. However, if you do want to get it done the best, i woudl definitely say spend the 300 and do it at your dentist, then after its done... once a month use something like "crest white strips"... My dentist told me that using the white strips once a month will keep your teeth as white as they became when you bleached or whitened them at the dentist. There ya go, hope i helped

you can buy all sort of whitening strips at walmart. Crest and Colgate make good ones. Ive tried both. Also Crest "Radiant" toothpaste is whitening and it actually works really well!

They actually work very well. They have a generic brand at WalMart called Equate whitening strips. They are half the price of Crest strips and work better. You have to use them every day and follow instructions. You will see results in just a few applications. My dentist says they are very safe.

How do I make my teeth whiter without a whitening kit?
I want my teeth to be whiter. I brush every night and every morning. I floss. I use mouthwash. None of it seems to help. I have retainers, if that makes a difference.

This white spot after having braces is most likely demineralization of your tooth. Which means calcium was sucked out of that area, and could have progressed into a cavity but didnt, so it is white and chaulky looking, which means it is now a permanent color of your tooth. The rest of your teeth could be whitened to blend it in but you will still notice it because you cant bleach ur teeth to that chaulky of a color. But i would recommend crest white strips work just as good as any bleach kit, if your teeth are straight now. alot cheaper, and works just as good!!

I've got white spots on my teeth after using the iWhite teeth whitening system.?
I'm worried this might be decalcification. The pamphlet says this may occur, but I want to know will it go away? It says it will, but I'm skeptical as further research into the matter doesn't really point to decalcification ever going away on it's own. Does anyone have any experience with the iWhite system and white spots on the teeth? Any answers or bits of knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

A mini pile of baking soda on your palm with enough drops of hydrogen peroxide added to make a stiff paste will clean and whiten your teeth as much as they ever need be. Be more concerned with preventing decay & keeping your gums healthy than being brighter than white.

What effective method whitens teeth the fastest?
I have prom this Saturday. I just got my braces off today. I have calcium deposits all over my teeth. Everyone says they're white... but they're blotchy. I am going to get this bleach whitening treatment from the dentist in a few weeks, but until then (before prom) I'm trying to find a way to get them a little more white. All help is appreciated :)

WANTED: BEST Teeth-Whitening system that doesn't involve a dentist trip?
I'm trying to find out what is the best teeth-whitening system without going to the dentist for a professional whitening. I'm researching for my fiance, who is in the Marines. Because he doesn't have the time, as well as all the amount of paperwork he would need to file to get a whitening done, we want to find something over-the-counter. He has really sensitive gums, so I'm nervous for him to use the white-strips. Do the trays seem to work better? Or is there another product someone could recommend? Any suggestions would be great...thanks!

Alright so i want to get my teeth white of course. i do smoke heavily and i know that's horrible on my teeth and im trying to slow down. but i was at the grocery store today and was looking at the teeth whitening stuff. and was like wow there so many different kinds how do i pick what right for me ? or how would i even know it works ? so basically i would like to know what type of products you have used if it was the trays or the strips or the gel. before i go spend 40$ on a chance of what will work i would like an second opinion. thx

I like using Classic Crest Whitestrips. I haven't tried any other brands besides Crest Whitestrips, but they have not given me any reason to! I've used them probably 3-4 times over the past 3-5 years. Works great :) But I know they have speedier ones out now that take like 5 minutes, but I know they're more expensive.

My Teeth Got Stained Right After Professional Whitening: Are They Now Ruined?
I had my teeth whitened by a dentist using BriteSmile. The results were off the chart: truly celebrity white! Then, that night (about 10 hours after treatment), I was out with my boss and had 4 light beers. I had been given a post-treatment care card that states, "Teeth have a protective layer called the protein pellicle. This layer contains the surface stains and is removed during treatment. It takes 12-24 hours for this barrier to fully develop again. During this period, avoid the items listed on the back of this card." Although beer is not clear or white, it was NOT listed as a "Don't" on this card. And, "Red Wine" IS listed as a "Don't", but white wine is NOT. Which led me to think that beer is OK. But when I saw my teeth in the mirror the next AM, they were streaked with pale tan stains! My dentist said "we'll do what we can" and 2 days later he applied 2 more 20-min. sessions, to no avail! Since these stains occured without the "protein pellicle" in place, are they now permanent?

I already use sensodyne gentle whitening toothpaste but it doesn't do anything for me! it sounds silly but my teeth look sooo disgustingly yellow compared with the whites of my eyes and when i wear certain lipsticks they look even worse :/ thank you everyone xxx

Regular removal of plaque by the dentist helps too... i cant i.m you but there is an alternative you could try. take a look here, there are lots of suggestions. http://www.tipking.co.uk/Beauty_tips/Fac… with soda .. you only use it a couple of times a week. you can "feel" the difference straight away tho the colouration fades gradual.. which i take to be due to using the soda only twice a week... but dont push too hard and use it everyday or you'll soften your teeth and they will stain easier..... I add listerine to the soda to make the paste.. soda tastes like a weak salt... so remember to take some water to bed as your mouth will feel dry in the night... you want "instant" depends how bad ur teeth are but again, i wont tell you here.

teeth whitening strip hurts, should i continue?
hello yesterday i received my crest pro whitening strips it was my first day and i applied twice for 30 minutes, 6 hours apart, as directed, and today, a day after, my teeth feel extra sensitive. i couldn't even eat my cereal this morning because the milk just felt too cold if this is my first day and this happens, should i continue using it or not? expiration date is Dec 2010 so that's not a concern. it is indeed true that my teeth are quite yellow i havent been to a dentist in 6 years
