whitening teeth at home?
any home remedies for whitening teeth?
--------------------
Brush your teeth with baking soda! I 've done it before...just don't use a lot of baking soda...a little goes a long way. If you do it for about a week you'll definetely notice a different, but it won't be dramatic. Also...strawberries are also good for whitening teeth. Just chewing on them works like those whitener gums...same concept. Instead of mouth wash you can also use peroxide water, but it won't really get your any whiter...it'll just make them really squeaky clean. Don't use the peroxide to often or you'll upset the balance of "good" bacteria in your mouth. Some things you can do to cut the staining is less coffee, cigarettes and red wines. Stuff that works and that you can buy from the store: so far the only toothpaste that really works to get teeth whitened is Rembrandt. Crest white strips are good too. My roomate swears by them!! Good luck!

how to do teeth whitening?
what are some ways to whiten your teeth with homeade stuff besides baking soda and peroxide.

Some of the basic home teeth whitening tip or methods of teeth whitening, used by people around the world are as follows: 1. Application of a paste of lemon juice and salt in the yellowish tint of the teeth is a wonderful way of eradicating that dull color of the teeth. 2. Rubbing the inner white part of an orange peel in the discolored teeth gives a lovely white shine. 3. Regular use of paste of bi-carbonate of soda with water removes the surface stain from the teeth. 4. Dried and powdered Bay leaves combined with dried orange peel also acts as an excellent whitener. All these home teeth whitening methods when done regularly can give an excellent result.

Pregnancy and teeth whitening?
I would like to use Plus White 5 minute whitening speed gel. I am 22 weeks pregnant. Is is safe to use, even if Im careful and not swallow any of the gel?
--------------------
If they say don't use when pregnant, there is a good chance that you could be harming your baby if you continue to use these whitening products. Is it really so important to have whiter teeth? Is it worth the risk of harming your baby? I would suggest waiting to whiten your teeth, even with the at home system, until your baby is born.

Dental Bridge + teeth whitening question too.?
Hi, I'm still in the process of determining if I should get a dental bridge. I did lose a front tooth, and I'd like to ask anyone out there in YahooAnswersLand that might have lost a front tooth and gotten a bridge: Question : Can you tell the difference, with a dental bridge, that it's not your own tooth? This is hard to put into words, but does it feel normal, once you get the bridge in, or does it feel strange? I know I'd have to be careful with it, and floss it all around, forever. Question #2.. What about teeth whitening? Has anyone out there had their teeth whitened, and if so, which method is the best ? I saw on the Net that I can send for the same basic system the dentist will use, for about 1/3rd the price.. But I don't know what strength of solution to buy? 16%, 22 % or 40 %, or the potential damage it could do to my teeth vis a vie sensitivity? Is there an on line whitening site that you trust? Thanks everyone...
--------------------
Well, i dont have a bridge.. BUT i will tell you, what i do know about both questions, seeing how i'm a Dental Assistant/Tech of 14+ years now. 1st... No, no one can tell..IF you get the right type of bridge. Since its a front tooth, DO NOT get a PFM (porcelain fused to metal). The metal shows through after time, and it looks like you have a black line around your gum tissue. GET.. a ALL porcelain bridge. Theres no metal, to show through. There fore it looks natural. People will never know the difference unless you tell them. As far as the feel.. it will feel strange till you get use to it. You have a tooth missing, a bridge fills the spot, of course its going to feel different. Will it be uncomfortable? NO... you wont even notice its there. 2nd... In office use of Peroxide is around 25%. But thats for the professional use, that we do in office. Not the stuff, we give you to take home. Its a high percentage, and you need professional / trained people in this procedure to do it right as so, NO damage is done to the gum tissue. IT CAN/ WILL burn the gum tissue, if not applied properly and carefully. We're trained to do this the 'right' way. After we bleach in the office we give patients 'take home' kits, that have no more than 12% Peroxide. Why, so low? Because of exactly what i said before... YOU can cause damage to your gum tissue if not applied properly. WE make 'customized' bleaching trays to fit your mouth/teeth PERFECTLY to the very T. As so the gel doesnt run out of the tray and come in contact with your tissue. Hope that helps... Use your own judgement, on whatever you do JUST... Be careful.

Are you interested in finding the best teeth whiting system on the market today? Would you like to bypass the long wait at a fancy dental office and whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home? You are not alone because millions of others around the world are using the products that are giving them white teeth at an affordable price and without the headache of office visits and filling out questionnaires. Often times people will start the path to whiter teeth with simple teeth whitening strips like those made by Crest and Rembrandt that can be purchased in your local supermarket. This is a very easy way to whiten your teeth but while you probably will have a whiter smile some will not have the kind of bright white smile they were looking for after their first box of strips. http://www.cureforbruxism.com/ http://mizar5.com/mmCB.html http://www.yourchildrensteeth.com/ It is at this point that people then begin a quest for the best teeth whitening system and they ask their dentist for their recommendations. Dentist can definitely help you achieve a whiter smile but the generally will want to sell you products that they can mark up substantially or will even recommend specialty teeth whitening practices that will see you for a number of sessions. You can skip this whole process and have some of the best teeth whitening systems, like those sold by your dentist, shipped right to your own home. Not only do many of these solutions cost less, many of them actually have a free trial if you simply pay for the shipping and handling. The reason these companies are able to make such great offers is because they know the results that people receive in such a short period of time. Teeth whitening HELP.?
Hii :] I NEED to have white teeth by next month. Can you tell me home remedies for whitening or the best and quickest kind of whitening you can get at the store ? && how long does whitening usually take to see a big difference ?
--------------------
Here are eight helpful guidelines for you: 1. Brush your teeth on a regular basis, use the dental floss. This way you will protect the teeth from cavities and plaque, and also such things as tartar. You will not only avoid these problems, but will make your teeth great-looking! 2. Keep away from fluoride, this substance will blemish your teeth color. Fluoride can be in water and in toothpaste, so pay attention to this fact when you choose the suitable product. 3. Keep away from smoking, and drink less tea or coffee. These are coloring drinks, your teeth will lose their whiteness when you drink much of them. 4. There is a number of products, which will cause stains on your teeth, some veggies and fruits also can produce such effect. Nobody urges you to stop eating them, just make sure to brush your teeth later. 5. Do you know about whitening effect of some fruits? This is a well-known thing, but if you are still not aware of it, take into consideration that orange peel can be good for this purpose. If you polish your teeth with this mash, you will see later the difference. It is also possible to make a paste of orange peel and leaves of sweet bay for brushing with this paste. Another good recipe consists of lemon juice and salt. 6. Baking soda is great natural teeth whitening means! Plenty of toothpastes made soda their ingredient because of its efficiency. We do not ask you to purchase paste of this kind. Make a combination of baking soda, salt and vinegar in addition to it and you receive an excellent means to overcome your cosmetic defect. 7. Pay special attention to the choice of mouthwash. The majority of them contains alcohol, others contain chlorhexidine which at times does not let your teeth remain white. 8. There are plenty of products for teeth whitening such as Alta White teeth whitening powder which is great, i've seen some good reviews about this product, they also provide a free trial. noticeably whiter & brighter teeth in only 6 days!

Crest. Dentists recommend it and it's approved by the ADA - American Dental Association straight Baking Soda mixed with table salt Save your money on the others! I've used it for years, have white teeth, hardly any decays (1 in 15 years) and good gum and I'm in my 60s. If you rethink Fluoride, then think of this ... if someone is unfortunately burned in a fire, what survives that fire? Some bone perhaps, but always some teeth! Enamel is extremely hard, so I have talked to my dentist about this and told him straight out I don't believe in the Fluoride treatment because it can't get through the enamel. He had to agree with me! He told me whatever I was doing to keep doing it and when I told him what I used he was very surprised.

you could do that but this way works better in my opinion and you don't have to spend any money I regularly brushed my teeth and really didn't want to spend money on dentist whitening and expensive products, . Okay well i found out from a little research on the topic i discoverd that mixing peroxide and baking soda works. i was a little dubious to try it but im glad i did. Take a cup and pour in about a teaspoon of baking soda in it. then pour in a little bit of peroxide like you would put on a cut. Mix it up and put it n your tooth brush. I will taste bad. Then brush your teeth with it for a couple of minutes then rinse. Then brush your teeth with regular fluoride toothpaste. don't use the baking soda as a substitute for toothpaste it will whiten your teeth but wont keep it healthy like the fluoride toothpaste or protect from cavity's or plaque build up. you'll see immediate results after about a week your teeth will be several shades whiter

Teeth whitening advice/help?
I want to whiten my teeth and i have the crest whitestrips supreme and a whitening tray with 35% carbamide peroxide. I read online that using the whitening tray can cause gum recession, is this true? Do the whitestrips cause gum recession also? I brushed hard while i was a kid so i do have gum recession, but i do not want to worsen them, but want white teeth also :/. Is it safe to use the whitestrips over the whitening trays (they come with the generic trays that you mold), and how would i go about preventing the tooth sensitivity caused by the whitening process? Thank you

teeth whitening before getting a crown?
helloooo. Question! I'm 17 and i just got my braces off december 18th. I have a missing tooth (I was not born with a tooth there, there was only a baby tooth, they pulled it and no adult tooth came in). Well, after having had braces for 3 years, i want a pretty white smile. my dad bought me crest whitestrips for christmas, and i want to use them. I already had my dental implant, and I am going to go to the periodontist to get the post uncovered on march 3rd. I was wondering if it'd be okay to whiten my teeth before getting a crown, getting the crown to match that color, then just keeping the whitening up? would it affect my crown at all, if i whitened my teeth to upkeep it (putting the strips on over the crown)?
--------------------
Good thinking. You absolutely right. Do all the whitening before you have the porcelain crown made. The dentist can then match the shade to your lighter natural teeth. Remember the porcelain crown is color stable and will neither get lighter or darker. I'll bet you'll look great in a couple of months.

Has anyone done teeth whitening? How did it turn out? How much did it cost?
Also, If anyone has done it in the chicago area, can you recommend a nice, less expensive place. ;-) BriteSmile seems expensive. thanks
--------------------
I recommend you see your dentist if you wnat to whiten your teeth and yes, you will have good results. The cost will vary depending on what part of the U.S. you live in. I do not advise any whitening products available over-the-counter as there are none that are approved by the ADA (American Dental Association). The only whitening products that have been approved by the ADA are available only at your dental office.

Do teeth whitening systems really work?
The ones where they make trays specific to your mouth and then you put a gel on the trays and leave on overnight for 7 to 10 days
--------------------
In the 70's and 80's there was teeth whitening gels on the market. They were taken off the market because they ruined peoples teeth. I have seen people with super white teeth and they are transparent all along the edges, which means the enamel is gone and rotted teeth are soon to follow. if you want white teeth, brush you teeth with sugar or salt or peroxide and baking soda will make your teeth much whiter seriously, crushed strawberries used as toothepaste will whiten your teeth. Steer clear of the whitening stuff no one has white teeth - they have a red tint or a yellow tint, naturally Stains make your teeth dull, clean them with natural abrasion

I would definitely wait! If you don't, your teeth will be a different shade of white under your brackets than the rest of your teeth!

Is take home light treatment for whitening teeth safe (from over the counter)?
I'm gong to buy teeth whitener soon from Wal-Mart probably and I wanted to know if the light treatment was safe? If not, what brand do you recommend?
--------------------
its mores of a gimmick. the light activated whithener used at a dental office uses a different light frequency than what is sold at walmart. I dont think walmart would sell the light used by dentist to the public as it is a regulated device. The gel may have some interaction with the light but it whitning property is more of a chemical reaction than it is a light reaction, so it is more of a gimmick and will probably not produce much if any difference than traditional gel and tray. Save your money and stick with gel and tray.

Are you supposed to brush your teeth after using Crest Whitening Strips?
I just took off my Crest Whitening Classic Strips, and it left a lot of gel on my teeth, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to brush my teeth after I take the strips off, or what not. It doesn't tell me on the package. If someone could help me out that'd be great! Thank you

Does the $10 teeth whitening work?
On the internet, there is an advertisement where a stay-at-home mom combines two teeth whitening products for that of a professional thousand dollar whitening. The results are convincing, but before i try it, i want to make sure that it is both safe AND effective. any help would be nice.

I used the Colgate brush on stuff, and it worked all right, but not as well as professional whitening. Watch out what you are putting on your teeth. Many whitening agents can harm your enamel.

home teeth whitening ! Any hints for home teeth whitening? any advice? how?
How do I make my teeth really white? Any celebrity teeth white solution? I've smoked cigarettes on and off for a good part of my life. I'd like to have really white teeth. My teeth aren't super dark or anything, but they are a little yellow from the nicotene. Anything I should do or use for celebrity teeth white to make them super white again before I started smoking?

The best dental whitening available home teeth whitening products are the teeth whitening kits. In this we have to buy a kit which contains an applicator with whitening gel. It is mild and gentle for the teeth and the process takes around 5 minutes daily. Another dental whitening option is baking soda and peroxide since it will be cheaper than kits but it will take awhile until you actually see very little difference. I didn't want to wait so long so I just ordered a kit online and it was well worth the time.

brushing or teeth whitening?
I have been brushing scrubbing brushing scrubbing but not even white a bit should I use those crest whitening strips but I'm afraid to use them cause they say they hurt or just keep on brushing my teeth after every meal any opinions
--------------------
Brushing your teeth after each meal is simply good hygiene, so you should keep doing that. However, brushing isn't going to get them any whiter unless you want to sit there for an hour each time you brush. Strips are OK but I prefer to use trays. The trays allow you to regulate how much gel you put on your teeth so you have better control over what the gel comes in contact with. If you want to read a little more about whitening go to: http://bestteethwhteningsolutions.blogsp

My teeth are already temperature-sensitive. So should I get my teeth whitened? I've never really had any particular desire to do so before, but I'm in a state pageant next week and a free teeth whitening is available. Is it worth it, or should I not take the risk?

Best (quick) teeth whitening product?
I'm going to a wedding on Saturday, and I'd like to use a teeth whitening product before then. I've seen some in the drugstore that's supposed to produce results in three days. Have you tried this? Which brands/products are best?
--------------------
Hi. So I used the Aquafresh Trays and they work wonders. You only use them for a week and it guarantees whiter teeth in 3 days. By the second day my teeth were noticeably whiter. The major reason I like the trays is because you only have to use them once a day vs. twice a day. Good luck!

Zoom Teeth Whitening Pain?
I recently went in for the Zoom Whitening System where they put gel on my teeth and sat me under a lamp for three 15 min sessions. The gel got on my lips and gums and I am now suffering with blisters and swelling. I can not brush my teeth. My teeth do not hurt from cold, my gums are just in serious trauma. Please advise...is this normal? Will it subside? Help!
--------------------
You should get at least a partial refund. They did not perform the job as intended. The pain will subside eventually, though the sensitive teeth will take longer probably than the gums, lips. That is ridiculous and I sure hope you go back and let them help you. The dentist should be able to prescribe something for the pain you are experiencing. Call him right now! P.S. As another posted said, some tooth sensitivity can be expected and experienced. Burned lips and gums are not to be expected and are not normal. You dentist should offer a solution to your pain immediately. P.S.S. Dentists who are qualified at zoom usually apply a waterproof protectant to gums and surrounding tissue for safety so they do not get burned.

TEETH WHITENING QUESTION. Any help is appreciated=)?
I got my braces off back in january. And i am very satisifyed with the shape of my teeth however,my teeth are not very white or at least not as white as i want them to be. I want them to be super white. I am saving up to get them professionally whitened but is there anything else i can use now to get them whiter. Ive tryed listerine dissolving strips and they didnt work very well. thnks=)
--------------------
crest white strips work decently well, they just cause a little bit of tooth sensitivity. if you buy those and some sensodyne toothpaste, you should be all set. i got my teeth professionally whitened after i got my braces off. it came out really nicely. to speed up the process, try going on the company in which youre using to whiten your teeths website and look for special offers, discounts, and promotions. with a little bit on investigation, i got 150$ off of my teeth whitening price. good luck and congrats on your beautiful teeth !!

whitening teeth (: !!!!!1?
i really have yellow teeth. and i want to get them whitened permanently, but i heard that wasn't possible. so i want to go get professional teeth whitening ; i know it will wear off even if i brush day and night ; floss twice a day. but when it wears off will my teeth color go back to my natural yellow teeth or will it stay white. and is there anything i can do at home to get my teeth whitened ?
--------------------
You can go bleach your teeth, get them professionally whitened, or get the plaque removed. And you can't have your teeth permanently whitened. Plaque is just going to come back. Just get your teeth cleaned by a dentist regularly.

Brightsmile is very expensive and can cause a lot of sensitivity. Also, after you have it done, you should not smoke, drink colas, teas, or wines. FOR A WHILE, or you will be wasting your money. Stick to Crest Whitestrips or Rembrandt ones, and see if you like their results first. Do the 5 or 7 day ones. Do as directed. I think you will be pleased. Stay away from all those staining things I said above, also.

Teeth Whitening - Crest or Kroger?
I saw that Crest whitening stripes have sodium hydroxide as an ingredient. It's the same ingredient which is used for toilet bowl cleaning. Isn't this harmful for the teeth? I looked at the Kroger whitening stripes package. There is no sodium hydroxide. Crest is worse and more expensive, Kroger is better and cheaper. Did anybody notice this difference? Who tried Kroger whitening stripes? When my braces will be removed I finally can try it. Do the whitening stripes work?
--------------------
I hope you mean 'strips' rather than stripes. No Krogers in my part of the country but I'm assuming the reference is to any so-called 'store brands' so I'll look for Kroger rival in this western locale. Thanks for the tip.

teeth whitening after getting braces off.....?
I just got my braces off a couple of weeks ago, and i want to get my teeth whitened. 1) do i need to wait a certain number of weeks before i whiten them? 2)What is the best, cheap, but effective teeth whitening system? Crest?
--------------------
I am familiar with these questions as I too have had the same 'dilemma'. Here is what I was told by my dentist and representatives from several (I shopped around) tooth whitening companies: 1) A residual glue that you cannot see nor can dentists/orthodontists remove by simple polishing of the teeth after the braces are removed can remain on the surface of the teeth for up to four weeks after the braces are removed. If whitening is attempted before all of the glue comes off naturally, the potential for 'spots' or streaking on the teeth from uneven whitening increases. Therefore, I would suggest a minimum of three to four weeks before I would use any type of strong whitening outside of toothpaste. 2) Despite all of the RELATIVELY expensive tooth whitening toothpastes on the market, you can use a simple home remedy of baking soda on your toothbrush after regular brushing. This works as good, if not better than a toothpaste, and is cheaper. It does not taste great though. The problem with the 'painted on' whiteners is that they do not last very long, and over the long haul, they will cost A LOT to maintain. The alternatives to bright white from Target or Wal-mart are effective, but do not last nearly as long as those that you can buy from your dentist (Brite White and Zoom). While these are significantly more expensive than store brands, they will last one to two years without outside maintenance, and they are more effective. You could also do an in-office whitening which speeds up the whitening process (1 afternoon vs. 2 to 3 weeks with Bright White), and costs roughly the same. Toothpastes merely remove surface stains like coffee/smoke/food from chronic build-up over the years, and only work to 'whiten' them close to back to where they were before, but Zoom or BriteWhite will whiten them well beyond what you can get from a toothpaste or naturally.

I know I can get my teeth whitened at the dentist for around $450. This is pretty expensive and am wondering if anyone has tried anything from the chemist or supermarket that has had good results. The ones that you buy at any given grocery store, Target or WalMart--which is best? I'm currently using that Crest 3D tooth paste that is suppose to work within 2 weeks, but I'm wondering what else really works? Also, I use Sensodyne as my teeth are painfully sensitive. Are the whitening agents going to make that worse for me?

What may work for one person, doesn't work for another. There really isn't a fast, simple way of having whiter teeth. My best advice, speak to your dentist about having a bleaching treatment. But realize, they ARE risks to whitining your teeth.

i had the same problem with yellowish teeth and i found this product is very effective and very cheap http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com/ i use it on a regular basis and it keeps my teeth white and looking great. It only costs about $30 AUD including the tray for you teeth and a couple of syringes with the gel, Which is cheap compared to the dentist. I put my trays in about twice a week for an hour each and you can notice the difference straight away. I also use it before i have a special occasion and take it out right before i leave. I get lots of compliments on my white teeth which is great. they're also very straight which helps, lol once i had a friends mum ask me if I've been 'sucking on bleach'. haha she was over-exaggerating but you can definitely notice the before and after difference. It doesn't hurt your teeth it just feels a little uncomfortable with the tray in your mouth. I asked around heeps before buying any products and i compared prices, at one stage i was going to go to the dentist and get it professionally done but im sooo glad i tried this out. Ive actually ordered it twice within the past year and am using my second lot now. Also use teeth whitening toothpaste and brush your teeth at least twice a day, if you eat meals at home always brush your teeth after woulds to keep any stains of. And of course avoid coffee and coke if you really want to maintain your pearly whites :)

my daughter is 13 and wants whiter teeth. obviosly i dont want t get her anything too strong, i was thinking more a toothpaste. what would you sugest?
--------------------
The old standard of baking soda and peroxide helps a little bit and certainly cannot hurt her or her teeth in any way. Yet I would see a dentist about professional whitening as opposed to any tooth whitening system even Crest White Strips. Even in adults the use of CWS leads to sensitivity sometimes even in the first use. This would be bad enough for an adult to experience much less your teenage daughter. Good Luck!!!

Do, these Nature Cure : Dental care & mouth care. After every meal, chew a little salt and gargle with water. Soft brush can be used to clean the particles caught between the teeth and the gums. Make it habit to clean the teeth every morning and before retiring to bed. In India, people use thin twig of a Babul, Banyan or a Neem tree (known as Datoon) as a brush. First it is to be crushed to make it soft and then use it like a brush. It is advisable to us a Datoon of Babul, Banyan or Neem tree at least once a day. It is reported by experienced dentists that tooth pastes available in the marked are not much effective. Instead, the following tooth powder or paste which can be easily made at home has been found quite useful for the care of gums and teeth : 1. Tooth Powder : Mixture of finely ground alum powder 40% and rock salt or regular salt powder 60%. For better results, a few drops of lemon may be added. In case of dental problems, adding a little of 'Sudarshan' (a bitter Ayrvedic powder is also recommended. 2. Tooth-paste : For dental problemslike bleeding, pyorrhoea, toothache, etc. make a paste of 50% alum powder 10% rock salt or table salt powder 10% Sudarshan powder (an Ayurvedic preparation) 15% edible oil (unrefined) 10% glycerine tanic acid 5% camphor. The paste made of this mixture can be massaged on the teeth and gums in the morning and evening with fingers. It ca be packed in collapsible tubes/jars and used, as tooth-paste. 3. Even massaging the gums with a mixture of 70% unrefined edible oil (seasame or groundnut or coconut), 15% glycerine tanic acid and 15% fine powder of rock salt or table salt is useful for good, healthy teeth and gums. Make it a daily habit. Please not that healthy gums are more useful than sparkling white teeth. 4. Mouth Freshener : Gargling with a lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water, freshens the mouth. Take a quarter of a lemon, massage it on teeth and gums and then gargle with water. Even chewing of mango, tulsi or betel leaves after meals is good, and so it is advised in India. 5. Exercises for teeth : Keep the lips closed. Pound the upper teeth on lower teeth for 30 to 40 times twice a day. Then massage the saliva on gums with the tongue. That will ensure proper blood circulation in teeth and increase the life of healthy teeth and gums.

I have been using Crest Whitestrips for the last two weeks twice a day and my teeth are somewhat whiter, no compliments or anything by those who regularly see me though. I got two boxes because there was a special. Should I continue on to the second box? Can I increase the times I use them per day? I have followed instructions and my teeth have not become sensitive and my gums are the same if not better than they were before.

if you want to keep teeth even whiter, have a talk with a dentist about the best teeth whitening kit and systems that are safe and effective before whitening your teeth. be sure to choose a teeth whitening that has quality ingredients that can be able to restore white teeth. you can also avoid culprits that can stain teeth like chocolates, tea, coffee, red wine, sauces, colas and more. also make it a habit to brush and floss teeth every after meal to remove stains caused by foods and drinks. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to keep teeth whiter.

What can I use to whiten my teeth without a dentist or whitening strips?
I brush and floss daily, but my teeth are still yellowish. I can't afford to get my teeth whitened by a dentist and I don't want to use whitening strips because they haven't helped before. I need suggestions on what I can possibly use instead and how do use it. Thank you!

Try using baking soda mixed with toothpaste. It worked for me. Also, if you smoke and drink dark colored beverages stop because it doesn't help.

--------------------
DONT DO IT! I DID IT WHEN I HAD BRACES! I thought, "O, well, it will just even out after my braces r off if I keep using them". Well I was...WRONG! Been 3 years and the places r still there, and it sort of messed up my braces.

Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply. Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening. More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-teethwhitening.blogspot.c

My teeth have gotten pretty stained from coffee, wine, and smoking. Any suggestions on how to take care of this AS quickly as possible. I'm going on a big trip in 11 days, and I want a WHITE smile. I already have bleaching trays from the dentist, so if you have a bleaching gel to suggest... that would be great. I don't want the kind that you have to keep on over night. Just for 30 min. Also if you know of any home remedys. Also from EXPERIENCE only... how much does it cost (generally) to get them whitened in the dental office?? I know I shouldn't smoke.... blah blah blah!

In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives' recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively. Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter. Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.

What should I use to completly whiten my teeth? Quickly!!!
--------------------
You can get in office whitening. It costs more but you see the results quicker. I also saw people doing it in the mall. However, I don't know the brand of whitening they are using and don't know what the results are like. The Zoom whitening works and so does the Sapphire. I've used both and my patients have really liked the results.

-Looking for something that won't make my teeth sensitive -Inexpensive (over the counter) -And will whiten the back of my teeth (I hear the white trays or strips do not reach that far) So anybody try anything that's good?

Okay. I know this is going to sound weird but use baking soda. It tastes nasty at first but you teeth will be white and your gums will be pink it will even make your breath smell good too. Here's how to make it perfectly. Get a shot glass and pour water into it. Mix some baking soda in until it is thick. Brush your teeth with it and shove it into your gums. DON'T USE WHITENING STRIPS WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will make your teeth weak. And after a while you will get yellow spots on your teeth... Good Luck and if this was helpful to you please put me as best answer!!!! THANKS!!!

consulting a dentist is the best way to be able to choose the best, safe and effective teeth whitening system. he may recommend you a good teeth whitener that contains good quality ingredients that will not harm teeth and gums. some teeth whitening kits contain harmful ingredients that can cause gum problems. stained teeth are caused by the foods and drinks that you consume that can possibly discolor teeth like red wine, tea, coffee, colas and chocolates and more. it is best that you refrain from consuming them. if not, then you can use a straw when drinking. proper brushing and flossing will help remove stains after eating. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to whiten teeth.

Brush and floss your teeth thoroughly twice a day and rinse your mouth with water after finishing the normal brushing routine. I would personally suggest NuvoraWhite, which has helped me get back my white teeth. What is notable about this product is that it doesn't have any side effects. Can tooth whitening be convered by dental insurance? I want tot get mine whitened but the in office one costs hundreds of dollars that isn't covered by insurance? If not, does anyone know of a good in home tooth whitener that works really well and works quickly?
--------------------
Whitening most likely will NOT be covered by insurance because it's considered a cosmetic procedure. Insurance will only cover what needs to be done for health reasons...not to make you look good. I have used Whitestrips, and an occassional whitening toothpaste. You can also try "White Light" which uses a gel and a little blue light. I can notice a difference after just a few uses. If you want to just buy the gel, you can always use the sports mouthguards to keep the gel on your teeth without getting it all over. (Boil the mouthguard in water until it can move a little...then stick it in your mouth while it can still move but it's not too hot. If you bite down, it should form to the shape of your mouth and teeth.) Anyway, hope this helps...and good luck!

My best friend in the world whitened his teeth last week. He used bleach, baking soda and ammonia. They looked really white at first, but he's been in the county ER twice. What do y'all recommend for a home-aid teeth solution? Thanks.
--------------------
none! you need to get a solution that is meant for teeth. try crest white strips. also to prevent staining, do not smoke, drink red wine, dark sodas, tea or coffee. if you do make sure you brush with a whitening toothpaste immediatly afterwards.

hi! what are some ways to whiten your teeth? besides the Crest strips and such. i once heard there was something you could make with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth. is that true? any others?
--------------------
Here is a ballpark cost range for what a dentist might charge for a single professional teeth whitening treatment. In some cases more than one treatment might be needed. $600 to $2000 Some dentists feel that their in-office bleaching treatments should be followed up with the use of an at-home whitener. If so, you can expect that there will be an additional cost for this additional treatment. A patient's costs might lie at the lower end of the price range stated above in those instances where a significant portion of the treatment process is performed by a staff member rather than solely the dentist. As another consideration, those dentists who incorporate an "activation" light or laser into the whitening process will have higher equipment costs than those who don't. These dentists will need to charge a relatively higher fee for their whitening treatments. All whitening products contain peroxide either as carbamide peroxide (CP) or hydrogen peroxide (HP). Peroxide dissolves the organic stains in the tooth to change the color and produce a whitened effect. There are four types of peroxide-containing tooth whitening products available: * In-practice products are applied by a dental professional. These products contain a high percentage of CP or HP and are applied directly to the teeth. Some activated by heat, light, or laser. This may be the product for you if you're in a hurry for whiter teeth and you don't have tooth sensitivity. For very dark-colored teeth, the whitening process can be sped up in two to three hours followed by a take-home product until the desired whiteness is achieved. * A take-home product supervised by a dentist is the most popular whitening method. These products contain a lesser percentage of CP or HP than in-practice products and are worn in a tray overnight or during the day at home. A custom-fitted tray is made to hold the whitening product directly against the teeth while lessening its contact with the gums. Some products have fluoride added to help prevent or treat mild tooth sensitivities. The typical stains of ageing will whiten in seven to fourteen days when the tray is worn overnight. * Over-the-counter (OTC) whitening products contain a small percentage of HP or CP. Caution should be used with these products as many contain an acidic solution that can wear away tooth enamel. OTC products use a bulky, one-size-fits-all tray to hold the product. Usually more product is swallowed than stays in the tray because of the trays poor fit against the teeth. It can take up to six months and the purchase of several kits to get whiter teeth. Flexible strips coated with whitening gel have recently been introduced as an OTC at-home tooth whitening method. The strips are worn on the front teeth and folded over to keep them in place. Results are reported to be noticeable after fourteen days and effective for 6 months. * Over-the-counter whitening toothpastes contain a small percentage of HP, CP, or polishing ingredient. The toothpastes are effective in keeping teeth cleaner and whiter looking but some may be very abrasive. The harsh abrasive will wear away the enamel with repeated use gradually making the teeth look yellow. Whitening toothpastes remove surface stains and prevent new stains from building up. Whitening toothpastes however aren't in contact with the teeth long enough to remove internal stains. Ask your dentist about the safety and cavity protection of specific toothpastes before you buy. I dont want them hollywood white just a wee bit whiter than they are now ! Are there any home remedys for teeth whitening ? Ive heard you can use bircarbonate of soda ! How often do you and how do you use that to make your teeth whiter ? Does it really work ? How long does it take to work ? Ive also heard that crest whiterstrips are good ! Do they work well ? How long do they take to work ? How much do they cost roughly in british pounds ? Do you have to order them online ? Thanks !!

since you want your teeth a shade lighter, use a over the counter teeth whitener, like crest, etc. Using soda bicarbonate too can get some results, try hydrogen peroxide as well.

Teeth Whitening!!!?
Hey everyone, I was wondering what kind of over-the-counter-products would work well on teeth. I want my teeth to be white!! But I dont know what products I need to do that. So I was wondering if you guys could name a few.(Toothpaste,Strips,etc.) I heard alot a good things about crest whitening strips. I wants something that is safe too. Also thanks alot who answered :-)
--------------------
I use crest white strips and they work extremely well. They are priced fairly well too. I only use the regular ones. They have crest white strips premium, which are supposed to whiten teeth in five days. So if the originals work well, I'm sure the premiums would work even better. Also, my mom uses ultrabrite toothpaste. She says it helps, but is not as affective as whitening strips. However, it is only a dollar, so it might be worth trying it out.

hi all, i would like to know a home treatment for whitening my teeth, i brush them every morning and night but that doesnt seem to be enough
--------------------
I have had some patients use the Crest White Strips and they have had good results. I have used plenty of whitening toothpaste's and none of them are very effective. I made myself some whitening trays at my dental office and I use the solution that we order and I got great results. Try the Crest White Strips but if you done get really good results then you can always go to your dentist and have them make you the whitening trays. They are a little expensive and insurance does not cover them but you will be very satisfied with the results. Before you whiten your teeth you should use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth because the solution will make your teeth sensitive to cold. It will go away once you are done.

Teeth whitening??!?
Does anyone know a good teeth whitening system. Nothing too fancy or expensive. I just want something that'll look natural but not over the top. Basically a few shades different. Please anyone?!
--------------------
Probably going to the dentist for it is best, because they can use a controlled environment and help you figure out what's best. If not, I'm guessing strips would work better than toothpaste (toothpaste never seemed to do much for me back when I used some for a while). Any way you go, though, be careful: whitening is basically a process of stripping the outermost layer of your enamel, which weakens the teeth and can make you more susceptible to cavities and other problems. Don't go overboard!

I am looking to whiten my teeth. I checked out the Zoom whitening already, way too expensive. Just wanted to know what otc whitener is the best.

The Listerine Strips are the best. I have tested them myself. You wear them for 15mins or so and they dissolve. Then you brush your teeth and you are done. A few of the other OTC strips slip while on your teeth.

Is it normal after getting your teeth whitened (by zoom!) to feel electroshock's in your teeth?
I recently just got zoom whitening done to my teeth, but after having it done ive been getting this sharp pain all through my teeth, like a electroshock. Is this normal??
--------------------
Teeth whitening can cause sensitivity. So it could be that you are feeling. Does it get worse if you eat something cold or very hot? Or if you're out in the cold air and open your mouth? If so, it's probably just that.

could a child of 11 years old have their teeth whitened with baking powder?
i think i heard that whitening teeth can make your gums burned... is it safe and effective? have you tried it before?
--------------------
According to the MDS USA, whether teeth whitening is done by a dentist in office or with over-the-counter products at home, young people under the 14 years old Should Not whiten their teeth because teeth are still developing before the age of 14. Children below 14 years old are permitted to use mouth rinses, flosses, whitening toothpastes and gums. Children's permanent teeth are never as white as their primary teeth. In time, children will grow into their own distinctive set of teeth, with their own size and color of teeth. Has anyone had their teeth whitened in Bali?
Was going to get my teeth whitened here (Perth), but after seeing my local dentist it was $500 for the take home kit or $900 for the laser whitening. I would assume it's a lot cheaper in Bali. Has anyone used a dentist over there while they've been on holidays for teeth whitening?
--------------------
I got drunk and "fell down" chipped a tooth (ok knocked it clear out of my head). did the Bali Dental clinic and was impressed, less then 100 bucks to fix it where at home would have been triple or more. Well run, efficient and clean. check the link. If anyone has it they will

Teeth Whitening for thirteen?
I was wondering If you can get a teeth whitening procedure for thirteen year olds. Do you think thirteen is to young??
--------------------
not THAT young... but young enough that some mothers wouldnt allow it. if your mom is one of them, you can whiten your teeth by using a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. it bleaches them a bit after like 5 minutes. im 16 and i do it about twice a month because its cheaper than strips and works almost as well!

Is teeth whitening BAD?
I have been considering whitening my teeth but wanted to know if if could harm your gums or teeth in any way? Since it doesn't last forever wouldn't it be bad for you to be doing it the time throughout your life? if are there any really good products that you've tried or any ones that dont work.. mentionit here
--------------------
To be safe I would visit your dentist first. They can tell you if it's okay for you to whiten. It can make your teeth sensitive. If you use too much you can burn your gums. The most effective products are the ones you get from your dentist. They are safe when used under your dentist's supervision.

Will tooth-whitening strips hurt if you have a cavity or exposed nerve?
I doubt I have either of those things, as I just had a great check-up. But I've had problems with tooth sensitivity and gum recession in the past. I remember reading years ago that that tooth-whitening stuff that you brush onto your teeth (I'm not sure if they make it anymore) REALLY hurts if you have tooth problems that you don't know about. Is the same true for the whitening strips?
--------------------
Yes, if you have gum recession or sensitve teeth you will have pain; however, go slow, maybe skip a day in between. The dental assistants at my dentist say they take Tylenol after they do whitening. I don't think they have the paint-on stuff anymore, but my dentist recommends Crest Whitening Strips. .

Is there a trick to whitening teeth without buying the stuff they sell in stores or going to the dentist?
Aside from regular brushing, Is there another way that is just as good? thanks
--------------------
The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.

Using teeth-whitening paste while having cavities?
So I wanna use this whitening paste on my teeth, but it says not to use if you have cavities. I'm pretty sure I have at least one cavity that still needs to be filled, but if I use the paste... what will happen to that tooth? Just wondering if I should go ahead and use the paste now.
--------------------
tooth whitening pastes may contain bleaching agents and if you use them without prescription as in your case you may develop some serious dental problems. it can further deepen the cavity, infect your gums and may even spread to surrounding teeth. so following dental recommendation and product prescriptions is really important, else you can't blame any company or product for the side effects

I have used baking soda on my teeth before but I stopped because I read if you use too much it might decay your teeth. But, there are many types of at-home products available for teeth whitening. When evaluating these products, the following should be considered: effectiveness, comfort, ease of use and the number of shades of lightening they produce. There seems to be thousands of companies advertising about teeth whitening products. But do they actually work? How do you choose the best teeth one? Teeth whitening products such as whitestrips, teeth whitening pens, and other dental products are designed to brighten your teeth without the pain or hassle and cost of going to the dentist. Teeth whitening products come in many different forms, such as trays, pastes, strips, and even a sort of paint that you apply directly to your teeth. The peroxide ingredient in most teeth whitening products is what actually bleaches the enamel and makes your teeth whiter. Most people see results from the best teeth whitening products in less than one week. You can find some cool products available for free trial. I keep coming across this one website below with a free trail. You may want take a look! Can't go wrong with free! I'm even considering trying it out myself as well.

Anybody have some good tooth whitening tips?
I regularly brush my teeth but they're still not that white :( I was wondering if people could give me any tooth whitening tips you might know of?
--------------------
I had the same dilemma. I regularly brushed my teeth and really didn't want to spend money on dentist whitening. So after doing a little research on the topic i discovered that mixing peroxide and baking soda really does work. i was a little dubious to try it but im glad i did. Take a cup and pour in about a teaspoon of baking soda in it. then pour in a little bit of peroxide like you would put on a cut. Mix it up and put it n your tooth brush. I will taste bad. Then brush your teeth with it for a couple of minutes then rinse. Then brush your teeth with regular fluoride toothpaste. don't use the baking soda as a substitute for toothpaste it will whiten your teeth but wont keep it healthy like the fluoride toothpaste or protect from cavity's or plaque build up. you'll see immediate results after about a week your teeth will e several shades lighter.

I use the Equate brand at Walmart..They work just as good as Crest, and all the other brands out there. They work fine, but they make your teeth really sensitive the entire few days/weeks that you're using them, and then a couple more days after you stop using them. But then the sensitive feeling goes right back to normal. Also, a few hours after you use them, your gums might hurt a little. But thats all totally normal. AND, when you take the strips off, your teeth will look splotchy. Like random WHITE spots here and there. Odds are, when you take off the strips and notice the spots, you will FLIP OUT and think that the strips ruined your teeth..But it's totally normal, and everyone that I've talked to that have used teeth whitening strips all flipped out too when they saw their teeth had splotches. BUT, after 30 mins to 2 hours, the spots go away. So don't panic, thinking that your teeth are ruined forever.lol It's just you teeth having a reaction to the whitening chemical. Anyway, they work...Try them.

Hello I am a Dental Hygienist from India. As you told you want to get your teeth white. For this you have to visit a Dental clinic and get a treatment called Oral prophylaxis(Scaling). Its a normal teeth cleaning procedure, but done by a Dental Hygienist or Dentist. With this procedure you will get the natural color of your teeth. There are different shades of teeth in every people,so you will get your natural shade back. But if you dont get that white and want more white shiny teeth then you can go for Bleeching treatment but it will be good if you just go for Scaling. Just brushing at home cant remove the stains and calculus (hard plaque and food debris) from the teeth and under free gingivalmargin(Gums). Stains and accumulation of plaque and calculus is normal process in every human. It cause due to improper brushing techniques and not using floss regularly. Using chewing gums is good and healthy habit but clean your teeth after eating chocolates. Scaling should be done in 6 months or atlest in the year.Visiting a Dental clinic in once in year or in six months is best. Hope this answer may help you.

okay so i mixed these things and brushed my teeth with it but some wee little parts of my gums are white, wtf! lol thanksss(:
--------------------
Step 1Use regular toothpaste to brush your teeth and rinse. Step 2Fill a cup with clean water. Step 3Get a small, disposable cup, a box of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a plastic spoon. Step 4Spoon out approximately 2 tsp. of baking soda into the disposable cup. Measure out about 1 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide and pour it into the cup. Mix the two ingredients thoroughly. Add more baking soda or hydrogen peroxide until you have a paste with the consistency of regular toothpaste. Step 5Add a drop or two of your favorite toothpaste into the cup for flavor. Mix all three ingredients. Step 6Wet your toothbrush. Step 7Dip the toothbrush into the paste. Get the paste on all sides of the toothbrush. Step 8Brush your teeth with the paste. Step 9Rinse your mouth well with the water from your pre-filled cup. Take small sips at a time and swish the water to remove all traces of the paste from your mouth. Step 10Repeat once a week.

How to whiten teeth quick and at home?
I need to whiten up my teeth a little bit because im going to a party later, what can i do besides brush my teeth to get extra whitening? help me please!

You can brush your teeth with some baking powder. It may not taste very nice, but it works. But don't do it everyday - The baking powder is acidic and it eats away at your teeth over time. But every now and then should be just fine :)

Lot of people do face problems with yellow teeth. The reason for yellow teeth can be less calcium, smoking or coffee. Some people face problems like yellow to faint yellow teeth also because of too much brushing or using products which harm teeth. While baking soda or peroxide can make your teeth white but it is not recommended. Dentists world over do not recommend use of such pure form substances on teeth as they harm your teeth in longer run. Not all whitening trays are good, in fact many people have complained about irritation and pain with trays. Lot of people want white teeth so that they can smile big and don't get embarrassed while talking to friends and colleagues. Such people can use teeth whitening pens which are 100% safe for your teeth. The best thing about these products is that you can easily get FREE trial to have white teeth. You may order your free trials and have white teeth. You just have to pay for the shipping and handling. Its always better to try before you buy and I am sure it will work for everyone including you. Hi, I'm a dentist so trust me when I tell you not to use over the counter strips. They contain Phosphoric acid and you do not want an acid attack on your teeth enamel. Only two products are safe: carbamide peroxide -for home use- and Hydrogen peroxide for dental chair use. As a dentist I like the second one because patients can't control the amount of product they use. Ask your dentist about Hydrogen peroxide products. I got my teeth bleached and I can assure you it's a safe procedure if the professional knows what he/she's doing. Good luck!

Teeth whitening question?
I am getting married soon and I realized that with my very white dress, my teeth are going to stand out as they are not that white. I was curious what are some good ways to whiten them? Any one have any experience with those strips? Any ideas would help, thanks!

The strips are good, in office custom trays are better, for the quick fix... in office treatment is the way to go (approx. same results as trays, just done for you and accelerated... more$).

i suggest that the best way to naturally whiten teeth is to e sure to maintain proper brushing and careful flossing to be able to remove stain on teeth as well as plaque. at the same time, you can also try using an at-home teeth whitening that can help restore white like what you have ages ago. make sure that you choose the right product that contains quality ingredients that is safe and effective. well, there is a need to quit bad habits of smoking and tobacco use. you can also avoid teeth staining culprits like foods and drinks such as coffee, colas, tea, plum, red wine, sauces, chocolates and many more. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to safely and effectively keep teeth whiter.

Which makes teeth whiter/better results? Laser Whitening or Bleaching?
Hi there, I'm thinking of getting my teeth whitened but want to know which way gets teeth whiter? Laser or Bleaching? I know Laser is more expensive but I've heard the results are better. Can anyone help me, has anyone had it done? Thanks
--------------------
Laser whitening and bleaching are really the same process. Both require the teeth to be covered with a peroxide solution; in "one hour" or laser whitening the peroxide is much more concentrated. The laser is supposed to cause the peroxide to be more active but several studies suggest that it does nothing more than placebo. After one hour there is whitening but likely not to the degree that you want; so you are then given an at-home whitening kit to complete the process over the following couple of weeks. I assume the bleaching you refer to is the at-home kit that is used for 30 minutes twice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks. This method is often more comfortable (less sensitivity) and less costly. Both methods will usually result in white teeth.

Teeth whitening toothpaste suggestions????????
I want to get my teeth professionally whitened but in the mean time i'm keen to try out teeth whitening gels/paste. Any successful brands anyone can suggest...?

I would try Arm and Hammer toothpaste with peroxide. It helped some. These whitening toothpaste are only used to "maintain" the color of your teeth. If you are looking for results, you will only find high quality results w/ your professional dentist whitened teeth.
